A Study on the Planning Direction of the Elderly Residence:Focusing on Hierarchy of Needs and Public Space Elements원문보기

The current situation in Korea is the reduction of the population due to the declining birth rate, the development of medical technology and facilities, the improvement of the standard of living and the extension of the average life span, and the rapid increase of the elderly population. Currently, Korea has a decreasing population due to the falling birth rate, the development of medical technology and facilities, the extension of the average life span due to the improvement of the people's standard of living, and the rapid increase of the elderly population. According to a total census by Statistics Korea, there were 3.37 million senior citizens in 2000, accounting for 7 percent of the population. This is a testament to an aging society. Then, the number of older people increased to 5.45 million in 2010 and 7.68 million in 2019, accounting for about 14.9 percent of the population. It further estimated that by 2060, the elderly population would exceed 1.88 million and account for 43.9 percent of the population. In the past, elderly dwellings in Korea were divided into facilities such as general housing and elderly residence, but after 2000, they were divided into elderly residential welfare facilities, senior citizens 'welfare homes, senior citizens' homes and elderly residence. Keywords began to emerge, such as Silver Town, and senior citizens 'towns, and the elderly' joint residences that provide various services and facilities for better living. Also, it should not be overlooked that the rapidly growing number of elderly people is not just a problem, but also a complex group of elderly people with needs such as youth and middle-aged people. However, it has become an important task for senior citizens such as the current nursing home to meet this desire and to create an adaptable environment while at the same time fulfilling the psychological burden on elderly people who are sensitive to environmental changes. In this study, if the environment of an aged care facility is still prioritized from a functional perspective, the institution will consider the practical perspective from an architectural planning perspective, while also looking for therapeutic environmental factors to suit the psychological, social and physical needs of the coming elderly. While living in a nursing home for the elderly, they are looking for clues to public space design that introduces healing environment elements. The reflection of the psychological, social, and physical needs of the elderly is, after all, a solution to the healing environment, and a social problem that needs to be solved through various methods. Therefore, in this study, the public space element, which is the subject of this study based on the elderly care facility currently operated overseas with mature welfare system, is to be the basis for planning plans for the public space that will be an effective healing and environmental factor for the elderly housing in the future by identifying the overseas elderly housing through The method of this study is based on Maslow's theory of desire to derive the necessary elements in the public space of the aged nursing home. We divided the characteristics of the elderly through the theoretical consideration of modern old people and the study of the characteristics of the old. And we split it into physical, psychological, and social characteristic After the review of the literature of the preceding researchers on the theory of Maslow's level of desire in public spaceThe five elements of "physiological needs", "safety needs", "love and belonging", "needs of respect", "needs of self-realization", and common space elements of senior nursing facilities. Through the literature of previous research, we have found that "spatial factor", "psychological factor", "comfort factor" and "social factor" is integrated with Maslow's theory of needs stage.
Based on the examples of five elderly nursing facilities in each country from 2010 to 2019, the research aims to conduct a case study and evaluation on the rationality of the arrangement of public spaces for senior nursing facilities, and the procedures of this study are as follows.News as a social issue The rise in the number of elderly households worldwide, keywords of aging, aging society, ultra-aging society has appeared in the news or media. It is attracting a lot of attention to the people.
However, traditional elderly residence have not reached their current quantitative and qualitative demands. Also, studies by many scholars have found that elderly residence designed without consideration of the characteristics and needs of the elderly may cause social problems such as loneliness and impairment of communication as they do not fit their inclinations and desires. Therefore, the government has established the policies necessary to comply with quantitative demands, and many attempts have been made to satisfy psychological needs with the participation of private companies. At the same time, the social interest of elderly residence and housing is increasing, and scholars need a lot of research Besides, through the theorem and rating according to the common space components, the plan for the planning of the spatial elements for the elderly residence to be built later was sought. By using the method of element derivation, the spatial characteristics and elements of the case were grasped to construct a framework for the healing environment elements of public spaces that fit the needs of the elderly. In addition, through the theorem and rating according to the common space components, the plan for the planning of the spatial elements for the elderly residence to be built later was sought. The results of the case study of this study are as follows. First, as a result of the case study using Maslow's Needs Stage Theory, most of the subjects showed that the satisfaction of the most basic physiological needs was similar or less than the highest needs and the quantity and quality. Based on the needs stage theory, the fulfillment of basic needs is, to some extent, the basis for higher needs. When interpreted in an architectural sense, particular attention should be paid to the satisfaction of the infrastructure. and elderly residence located in the inner corner increase contact with outsiders. Second, the simpler the route, the more efficient it is and the greater the probability that the elderly can find their own way. The introduction of a sign system would be one of the solutions, but it would be necessary to simply design the copper system for the construction of future retirement facilities. Third, it should be easy to explore not only the moving line but also the family, and there should be a space that promotes communication with the elderly, family, and relatives by arranging resting spaces between the lobby and adjacent spaces. The establishment of the hobby space and the layout of the public space will reconsider the communication of the elderly and bring psychological comfort with attachment and attachment. Fourth, the decorations in the public spaces (flower bed, paintings of old memories, statues, etc.) and the arrangement of many programs (health care spaces, hobby rooms, classrooms, chapels, barber shops, etc.) can enhance the elderly's desire for self-esteem. Fifth, in order to satisfy the self-realized desires of the elderly, a space with personal elements will be needed despite being a common space. Half-hidden garden, speculative space. Considering the promenade, which extends to the outside, as a design element will help in the construction of qualitative elderly residence. In this study, based on the literature review and case analysis, I would like to have meaning in deriving the characteristics of the space in terms of public space and the human needs of the elderly residence abroad. In addition, it is also meaningful that the main focus of this study can be helpful for the design of the elderly residence in the future as a study element of the psychology of the elderly. This study considered the lack of qualitative aspects of elderly residence. However, the limitation of this study was that limited studies were conducted only on healthy elderly people, that they were limited to overseas cases, and that cultural factors were not considered. More active research is needed in the future.
