The purpose of this research is to investigate what influence kids cooking activities connected to gardening play has upon the social emotional behavior, eating habits and picky eating of infants.
The research questions set by this study are the following.
1. What influence does kids cooking activities connected to gardening play have upon the social emotional behavior of infants. 2. What influence does kids cooking activities connected to gardening play have on eating habits of infants. 3. What influence does kids cooking activities connected to gardening play have on the picky eating of infants. The subject of the research was 24 in two-year-old classroom. The experiment group was 12 in two-year-old classroom from that C Child-care Center and K Child-care Center located at H city in the Gyeonggi-do. The comparative group was 12 in two-year-old classroom that F Child-care Center located in the commensurate area. The experimentation began Aug. 6. 2019 and ended Oct. 4. 2019 with 16 test over a period of sixteen weeks. The gardening play was done through large groups in free choice play period while the kids cooking activities were done in a large group.
The social emotional behavior examination was conducted with The Social Emotional Behavior Diagnostic Measures developed by Shim, Sook-young (2012). For the eating habit research, the survey sheet edited and improved by Lee, Yeon-ju (2014) in reference to the original survey by Kim, Eun-hee (2004) was used. For the research of unbalanced diet, the survey sheet edited and improved by Seong, Nak-jin (2012) in reference to the survey sheet developed by the upward research paper by Lee Hyung-bok (2006), Park, Yu-mi (2007), and Song, MI-ok (2010) was used.
Arrived at the conclusions by analysis results on the subject of the research as follows.
First of all. the kids cooking activities connected to gardening play had positive influence upon the overall points on the social emotional behavior of infants. There were significant difference in attention concentration, self-perception and emotional regulation, prosocial behavior and social behavior of social capability among a lower rank of social emotional behavior of infants. In addition, A lower rank of problematic behavior-isolation anxiety and gloom, disobedience and peer attack, sleep troubles and eating troubles–all have shown meaningful reduction.
Secondly, the kids cooling activities connected to gardening play had positive influence upon the eating habits of infants. There were meaningful betterments upon the overall points and all subordinate concepts such as sanitation awareness, table manners, and eating behavior among the eating habits of infants.
