The Effect of Project Based Science Learning using Smart Devices on Digital Literacy and Science Attitudes of 6th Grade Students원문보기

The purpose of this study is to find out how the science project class using smart devices affects the digital literacy and science attitude of 6th graders. In this study, a program for Project Based Science Learning using Smart Devices was developed and implemented for one class in the 6th grade of elementary school. Pre- and post-digital literacy tests and science positive experience index tests were conducted to analyze the results. The following conclusions were drawn from the results of the study. First, a program for project based learning using smart devices was developed for elementary school students. The 10th hour curriculum was set in five stages: topic setting and planning, preparation, execution, sharing, and evaluation. At each stage, students experienced a collaborative process based on active interaction and subordinate to digital literacy. Specific activities were organized so that the elements could be applied evenly. Second, the study found that children who participated in the program were encouraged to enhance digital literacy. Significant changes were identified in every five factors of digital literacy. Through this program, students were able to understand the principles and technologies of digital devices, use various digital software, and integrate digital attitudes through actively participate in achieving project goals. It can be inferred that the experience of the process of communication and collaboration had an impact. Third, the study found that children who participated in the program were encouraged to improve science attitudes. Significant differences were revealed in all five categories of science attitude: science academic emotion, science-related self-concept, science learning motivation, science-related career aspiration, and science-related attitude. By providing opportunities for science positive experiences, it can be understood that it has stimulated students' interest in science and helped them recognize the usefulness of science learning. Based on the above results, it can be seen that Project Based Science Learning using Smart Devices has a positive effect on students' digital literacy and science attitude. In this study, a program for Project Based Science Learning using Smart Devices was conducted for a class in the 6th grade, but it is necessary to expand its application and examine its effect. Also, it is necessary to study various teaching methods using smart devices and to develop a systematic curriculum for continuous digital literacy education.
