The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations between nurses' COVID-19 knowledge and infection control compliance, resilience, and psychosocial well-being. During the serious stage of COVID-19 outbreaks, convenient sampling was conducted with 232 nurses at a general hospital in Seoul. As a result, nurses' COVID-19 knowledge, a correct answer rate was 72%, and infection control compliance rates were high as 3.65 out of 4. The nurses’ resilience level was to be 2.48 out of 4, and in terms of psychosocial well-being, only 5.6% were of the health group. Knowledge about COVID-19 differed according to the departments nurses worked in, exposure to outbreak-related education, and willingness to care for confirmed cases during outbreaks. Differences were seen in infection control compliance by age, marital status, career years, position, work department, exposure to outbreak-related education, experience with caring for confirmed cases, experience with working at the screening stage for COVID-19, and willingness to care for confirmed cases. Resilience differed by educational background and position, and social psychological health differed by gender and educational background. When correlating the study variables, infection control compliance and resilience showed a positive correlation (p<.05), whilst resilience and psychological well-being showed a negative correlation (p<.001). In conclusion, the higher the nurse's COVID-19 knowledge, the higher their infection control compliance was, and the higher the nurses’ resilience, the higher their infection control compliance and psychosocial well-being were. Based on these results, it is suggested that repeated studies targeting nurses at the COVID-19 cohort-isolated hospitals such as Daegu City be conducted, as well as comparative studies after ending COVID-19 outbreaks. Also, interventional studies to improve the resilience of nurses are suggested.
