The purpose of this study is to devise a plan for constructing a literature class question for expressing emotions, with an emphasis on emotions that are formed inside the learner in appreciation of literature. To this end, critically analyzed the emotional expression questions contained in the 2015 revised 3rd and 4th grade Korean textbooks to find the direction of question formation for emotional expression. Prior to the study, first, the questions used during the use of literary works were examined based on the textbook appendix . Among them, all questions that function as emotional expressions including emotional elements (appreciation, impression, interest, empathy, emotion) were analyzed. Based on this analysis, 52 emotional expression questions used in Korean textbooks of the 3rd and 4th grades were analyzed based on several criteria, and the following aspects were confirmed. First, according to the type of emotional expression questions, the frequency was high in the order of sentimental, evaluative, and interpretive questions. Sentimental questions were largely divided into questions expressing thoughts and feelings, and questions dealing with the way of emotional expressions. The evaluative question appeared as a question evaluating the words and behaviors of the characters in the consideration of the level of learners in the 3rd and 4th grade of elementary school and evaluating what happened in the work (event). Lastly, the interpretive question was mostly a question that inferred the character's mind and situation from the learner's experience.Second, as a result of examining the frequency of emotional expression questions at each reading stage, they were high in the order of after reading (96.2%), before reading (3.8%) and during reading (0%). Through this, it was confirmed that it is necessary to provide an opportunity for expressing emotions through teacher's questions in the whole process of reading.Third, as a result of observing the reactions occurring in class by applying emotional expression questions to 4th grade students, it was appeared they had to feel without understanding the meaning of the text, had to express emotions without feeling the text, embarrassed that they didn’t know how to express their feelings. Through this, it was confirmed that a step-by-step question structure considering the process of expression and a question dealing with the method of emotional expression were needed. Based on this textbook question analysis, the literature teaching and learning procedure for expressing emotion based on the reaction-oriented teaching and learning theory is in order of 'preparing emotional expressions, forming emotions, expressing emotions, internalizing emotions'. First, in 'Preparing Emotional Expressions', learners revitalize their existing experiences before reading a literary work, create interest in the work, grasp the contents of the work, and prepare various foundations to form an emotion. At this stage, a realistic question (a question that can find the answer in the text) was applied. In 'Forming Emotions', reasoning based on the contents of the work begins based on an accurate understanding of the contents of the work performed in the preparatory stage. In 'Expressing Emotions', you can share and express your emotions in a variety of ways. Here, we used sentimental questions (questions with answers in the mind). 'Internalizing emotions' aims to make literature sentiment in everyday life by expanding the expressed emotions and providing opportunities to find and read related works.Lastly, the method of constructing a literary class question for expressing emotional sentiment was applied to the class for the 4th grade elementary school students and the results were analyzed. As a result of the study, most students responded that they were interested in emotional expression activities, that they were interested in literary works, and that expressing and sharing emotions was significant. This study has significance in that it suggested the importance of emotions formed by learners in literary education and suggested a method for constructing literary instruction questions centered on emotional expression. Through the analysis of the emotional expression questions aspect of the 2015 revised 3rd and 4th grade Korean textbooks, we sought the direction of constructing the question for emotional expression and applied it to 4th grade learners to examine the response. In the existing textbook-centered class, learners have difficulty in expressing their emotions and there are limitations in that literary works are used as a means to acquire language skills. The purpose of this study was to find a way to supplement this in the teacher's question, and it has educational significance in that it suggested a new perspective on the existing literature class.Studies related to the activation of literary responses to find the essence of literary education have been conducted in many studies to date. However, there are few studies related to emotional aspects, and even if they are, they were mostly dealt with in physical education or early childhood education. Learners can share and communicate with others by expressing the emotions formed inside. Emotional expression is an expressed reaction, and learners can confront and reflect on invisible emotions through emotional expression. In addition, teachers can be provided with opportunities for feedback to help learners appreciate the literature. As such, the literature class for expressing emotions is meaningful in that it is a process for finding the essence of literature education. As a follow-up to this study, it would be a more meaningful study if the significance and effect of emotion expression were verified in the literature class. I hope this study will reconsider the essence of literary education once again, and it will be helpful for literary classes focusing on the emotions that learners feel after appreciating literature.
