PIS는 PI-FTD와 폴리실록산 양쪽 말단에 아미노 그룹이 도입된 bis(3-aminopropyl) terminatedPoly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS)의 축합반응으로 제조하였다.

The scope of application of lithium ion secondary batteries as a power supply element for electronic devices is expanding from small devices to medium to large devices requiring high capacity energy such as electric vehicles and energy storage devices. In line with the expanding scope of application, cell, pack, and module-based studies have been conducted to develop high energy density lithium ion secondary batteries. As the number of battery cycles increases, transition metal ions of the electrode elute into the electrolyte or a solid electrolyte interface (SEI) is formed on the electrode surface. Many studies have been conducted to improve the problem of deterioration of battery performance. Among them, the method of coating the surface of the active material was very effective in improving the cycling stability and thermal stability of the electrode material. In this study, we studied the production of polyimide copolymer and its application as a positive electrode binder for lithium ion secondary batteries. Coin cells were fabricated using polyimide-cathode active material (NCM811) slurries with different composition ratios, and battery performance was compared through charge / discharge tests of the produced cells. PI-FTD containing fluorine and carboxyl groups showed the best performance. In the case of PI-FTD, it was confirmed through TEM, FT-IR, and XPS analysis that the carboxyl group forms a bond with the metal of the positive electrode active material and protects the positive electrode active material by coating the surface. It was confirmed that the battery performance was improved than when PVDF was used as a binder, and the high heat resistance of PI-FTD was confirmed through DSC measurement. In addition to the above results, a poly (imidesiloxane) copolymer (herein after referred to as PIS) having excellent adhesive performance was prepared and attempted to be applied as a binder. PIS was prepared by condensation reaction of bis (3-aminopropyl) terminatedPoly (dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) in which amino groups were introduced at both ends of PI-FTD and polysiloxane. It was prepared by heat treatment at 100 ° C for 1 hour, 200 ° C for 1 hour, and 300 ° C for 1 hour under a nitrogen atmosphere. High heat resistance was confirmed by DSC and TGA. Spectroscopic characteristics of the prepared PIS were confirmed by IR, and carbonyl stretching of imide and Si-C and Si-O stretching of polysiloxane were confirmed. In addition, in order to confirm the adhesion performance with the positive electrode active material, the peel strength was measured through SAICAS analysis, and it was confirmed that it has a strength similar to that of PVDF. A coin cell was produced using PIS-NCM811 slurry to confirm application to a binder. The fabricated cells were tested for charging and discharging, and improved battery performance compared to PVDF was confirmed. This study was able to obtain information on the properties of polyimide and PIS copolymers containing Fluorine and Carboxylic acid groups. When the prepared copolymer was applied as a positive electrode binder for a lithium ion secondary battery, elution of the transition metal and electrode decomposition could be suppressed. In addition, the binding characteristics of the PIS copolymer-based electrode were confirmed. Based on the above results, it was confirmed that it is applicable to the production of lithium ion secondary batteries having high energy density.
