Recently, the demand for Lithium-ion batteries is increasing from small electronic devices such as mobile phones and lap top to medium and large energy storage devices such as electric vehicles and energy storage system. Accordingly, characteristics such as high capacity, high voltage, and long cycle life of the battery are required. xLi2MnO3·(1-x)LiMO2(0 In this study, a precursor was prepared through a co-precipitation reaction. An active material doped with 1 mol% of Sn and Ti compared to the transition metal was synthesized. For doping, a solution in which nano-Me(Me = Sn, Ti) was uniformly dispersed throughout was prepared. The uniformly dispersed nano-Me solution was evenly coated on the surface of the precursor and mixed with Li2CO3(lithium source) to synthesize an active material at high temperature. The final synthesized material Sn(0.01), Ti(0.01)(doped active materials), and Pristine(un-doped active material) samples were analyzed for physical properties and electrochemical properties (half cell and full cell test). Based on this, it was confirmed that the structural stability of the cathode material was improved as a certain amount of Sn and Ti was doped into the transition metal layer of LLO. As a result, the material exhibited stable cycle performance and improved voltage decay.
