As walking is the most basic means of transportation for humans, it is the basis of all activities and is recognized as an essential activity for a healthy and sustainable city life. In particular, walking is the most basic and essential means of transportation in the city, but the related research is insufficient compared to research on other means of transportation. Walking has great autonomy and is difficult to predict, and various gait simulation models are being developed to predict and analyze gait patterns. The gait analysis from a macroscopic point of view, which approaches the existing pedestrian movement as a homogeneous and continuous flow, has limitations in predicting sophisticated gait patterns. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze individual pedestrians as independent objects and analyze them from a microscopic point of view that can reflect the interactions between pedestrians. In this study, a research framework was presented to build a micro-simulation model reflecting pedestrian trajectory by collecting and using various pedestrian monitoring data based on traffic cards, questionnaires, and images. AnyLogic, a microscopic walking simulation tool, was used, and a simulation network was established before and after the restructuring project by setting Gwanghwamun Square as the analysis section. An input value was inputted by constructing a pedestrian trajectory model of the simulation using the collected pedestrian trajectories information. Finally, by comparing the image-based actual pedestrian information and the simulated number of pedestrians, it was verified whether the pedestrian simulation environment constructed sufficiently reflects the reality. If the micro-pedestrian simulation environment construction methodology established in this study is used, a pedestrian network environment similar to reality can be built in the future, and it is expected that the effect analysis in various scenarios will be possible. Examples of various pedestrian scenarios such as evaluation of the effect of pedestrian facility restructuring project, evaluation of traffic plans, selection of congested sections when events occur, and prediction of subway station demand were presented as a way to utilize the study. In addition, the actual analysis section was set for the effect evaluation part of the pedestrian facility restructuring project among the pedestrian scenarios to analyze the change in the pedestrian density pattern before and after the restructuring project. As a result of comparative analysis of the pedestrian density before and after the restructuring of Gwanghwamun Plaza, the pedestrian density of the entire network in the analysis section decreased after the restructuring, and the pedestrian density in the adjacent section of the plaza increased.
