(Abstract) This study was conducted to find out the lifestyle changed in the era of Corona for middle-aged women in Gwangju. The study examined general characteristics, dietary habits, lifestyle, changes in food intake, interest and intake types of health functional foods, and changes in menopausal symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both positive and negative habits increased in eating and living habits, positive habits increased the most in intake of nutritional supplements to strengthen immunity, and negative habits increased the most in frequency of delivery food. Among the recommended foods, eggs, fruits, and vegetables were the highest in the order of food intake, and non-recommended foods were meat, bread, and rice in that order. The perception of health functional foods was high in order of interest, knowledge, experience in intake, and purchase amount. The types of health functional foods consumed were high in the order of probiotics, multivitamins, inorganic supplements, and vitamin C. The symptoms of menopause were high in order of bone joint pain, decreased quality of sleep, and mood swings. The weight of the subjects was significantly increased compared to before corona. The age of 50s showed better results in lifestyle and food intake changes than in their 40s. The negative habits and non-recommended food intake were higher in households with more than three members than those with 1-2 members. The positive habits have increased in households with higher monthly income compared to households with lower monthly income. The higher the number of dining out, the more negative habits and unrecommended food intake. In the case of frequent exercise, positive habits were higher, negative habits were lower, non-recommended food intake was lower, and interest in health functional food was higher than in the case of little exercise. In the case of high health interest, positive habits were high, negative habits were low, recommended food intake was high, non-recommended food intake was low, and interest in health functional food was high. In the case of good health, negative habits were lower than in the case of normal, and menopausal symptoms were lower. In the case of weight increase, negative habits, non-recommended food intake, interest in health functional foods, and menopausal symptoms were higher than those without increase. The more positive eating habits, the higher the recommended food intake, and the higher the perception and intake of health functional foods. Negative eating habits correlated with non-recommended food intake and menopause symptoms. Overall, as a result of this study, interest in health increased due to COVID-19, positive habits and intake of recommended foods increased, and interest in health functional foods increased. However, considering that people with low health concerns, poor health conditions or weight gain had high levels of negative habits or non-recommended food intake and worse menopausal symptoms, despite COVID-19, it is considered that education is necessary for middle-aged women to raise the interest of health and make desirable eating habits.
