본 연구의 목적은 Web OPAC시스템 이용자들의 성격유형과 그들의 탐색행위 및 인터페이스 선호도 간에는 어떤 상관관계가 있는지를 분석하는 것이다. 데이터 수집은 이용자들의 성격유형을 파악하기 위해서는 MBTI를 사용하였고, 이들의 Web OPAC시스템 탐색행위와 인터페이스 선호도를 측정하기 위해서는 총28개 요소들로 이루어진 자체개발한 온라인 설문지를 사용하였다. 이 실험에는 K대학교 재학생 48명이 자발적으로 참여하였고, 이들의 성격유형은 MBTI 4가지 선호지표인 외향성-내향성, 감각형-직관형, 사고형-감정형, 그리고 판단형-인식형으로 코딩 하였다. 수집된 데이터는 SPSS Windows Ver. 11.0을 사용하여 분석하였고, 상관 관계 분석을 위하여 Pearson의 상관계수(r)를 사용하였다. 데이터분석 결과 이용자들의 MBTI 선호지표와 9개 Web OPAC 탐색행위 및 인터페이스 선호도 요소들 간에 통계적으로 유의한 수준의 상관관계를 보였다.
