본 연구는 영재성의 기초인 유아의 사고능력이 연령 별로 모의 양육태도와 어떤 연관이 있는 가를 알아보고자 하였다 연구대상은 5시에 소재한 유치원에 등원하는 4$\sim$6세 유아 401명과 어머니를 대상으로 하였다. 측정도구로는 영재성 평가검사로 활용되는 레이쌀 검사 시리즈에서 가장 난이도가 낮은 유아의 사고능력을 알아볼 수 있는 레이븐 CPM 검사와 부모의 양육태도에 관한 질문지를 사용하였다. 부모양육태도 검사는 지지표현, 합리적 설명, 성취압력, 간섭, 처벌, 감독, 과잉기대, 비일관성 등 8개 하위 영역으로 구성되어 있다. 연구결과는 먼저 부모의 양육태도는 연령대에 따라 다르게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 4세 유아는 합리적 설명, 성취압력, 처벌, 감독 요인이 문제해결능력에 영향을 미치고 있음이 밝혀졌고, 5세는 지지표현과 감독이 중요한 요인으로 나타났다. 그리고 6세는 지지표현, 합리적 설명, 처벌, 과잉기대가 사고력 문제 해결에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 양육태도 영역별 정적 혹은 부적 효과를 논의하였다. 이 결과는 부모가 자녀의 연령에 따라 양육태도를 변화시켜 대응하는 것이 사고력 발달에 효과적이 될 수 있음을 시사하는 것이다.
