문화기술지(ethnography) 연구는 무엇인가? 본 연구는 해외로 취업한 간호사중 독일에 거주하는 간호사들의 나이 들어감의 과정과 의미를 이해하고자 Agar(1980)의 문화기술지 분석방법을 이용한 질적 연구이다. 문화기술지(ethnography) 연구는 문화인류학에서 발달한 연구방법으로서 특정 문화집단의 인간행위를 탐구하고 이를 통해서 인간행위의 양상과 그 이유를 기술한다. ‘Ethno’ 란 일상적인 삶을 살아가는 사람이고 'graphy'는 이러한 삶을 그들의 이야기를 통해서 분석적으로 묘사한다는 의미가 있다.
