The subjects' professional identity was in a positive correlation with the frequency of emotional expressions and deep acting among the sub factors of emotional labor, and in a negative correlation with surface acting and depression. The Frequency of emotional expression and the diversity of emotional expressions which the sub factors of emotional labor were in a negative correlation with depression and in a positive correlation with surface acting and depression. In order to relieve beauty business workers from their depression based on these results, there should be education or programs for establishing beauty business workers' professional identity and program for increasing of emotional expressions and decreasing of surface acting.

이론/모형
본 연구에서 우울은 조맹제, 김계희〔33〕의 한국판 Center for Epidemiologic Studices Depression Scale(CES-D)의 도구를 사용하였다. 총 20문항의 0~3점까지로 이루어졌으며, 점수가 높을수록 우울이 높음을 의미한다.
본 연구에서 정서노동은 Brotheridge와 Lee(1998)가 개발하고 이복임[2]이 수정·보완한 정서노동 측정도구를 사용하였다.
성능/효과
다중회귀분석 결과, 본 연구 대상자의 우울에 영향을 미치는 변인은 자율성(t=-2.11, p<.05), 감정표현의 다양성(t=-2.49, p<.05), 표면행위(t=2.86, p<.01)이었으며, 이들 변인들은 우울에 대하여 23.6%의 설명력이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
