PSS는 기업의 경제성과 환경성을 제고하고 사회적 부가가치 또한 창출할 수 있다는 측면에서 장점을 가진다. 첫째, PSS에서 제품과 서비스는 상호 보완적으로 작용하여 고객에게 편의를 제공하며, 가치 창출의 효율성을 높인다. 또한, 제품과 서비스의 상호 보완은 기업-고객 간의 상호작용 수준을 향상시켜 기업이 고객에게 지속적으로 맞춤화된 가치를 제공할 수 있도록 한다. 이러한 PSS의 차별성은 결과적으로 기업의 경제성을 향상시킨다. 둘째, 제품 수명주기에 걸친 서비스의 제공은 제품의 효율적인 소비를 가능하게 해 제품의 환경 영향도를 감소시킨다. 예를 들어, 제품 사용 후 발생하는 폐기 자원을 기업이 회수하고, 이를 재활용하는 서비스는 제품 사용 후 폐기에 따르는 환경 문제를 효과적으로 해결할 수 있게 한다. 셋째, 제품 사용의 최적화, 고객화된 가치 제공은 소비에 대한 문화적 성숙을 유도하여 사회의 과소비를 감소시키는데 기여한다. 또한 제품과 통합적으로 제공되는 서비스의 활성화는 서비스 고용 증대를 유발하여 사회적 부가가치 창출에 기여한다.
