2011년 4월 기준, 북한이탈주민 입국인원은 몇 명인가? 북한이탈주민 입국인원은 1990년대 중반 이후 급격히 증가하여 2011년 4월 현재 2만 천여 명에 이르고 있다(Ministry of Unification, 2011). 그 중에서 여성의 비율이 2006년 이후 매년 75%를 상회하고, 19세 이하 아동의 누적 비율이 16%에 이른다는 것은 개인 단위가 아닌 가족 단위의 북한이탈주민이 증가하고 있음을 뒷받침해 준다(Chae, 2003; Kim, 2011; Song, 2002).
