간호 성과의 축소 또는 은폐의 결과를 초래하는 문제를 해결하기 위해 간호관리자가 해야하는 일은 무엇인가? 이러한 간호관리 활동이 원활하게 이루어지지 못할 경우, 실제 간호부문이 병원의 경영에 미치는 성과를 합리적으로 분석할 수 없으며, 이는 결과적으로 간호 성과의 축소 또는 은폐의 결과를 초래할 수 있기 때문이다. 따라서 병원의 주요 부문인 간호부서의 간호관리자는 이와 같은 재무제표 상에 나타난 정보를 해석하여 이를 조직 운영에 반영하여 간호관리 전략을 수립할 수 있어야 하겠다.
2004년 의료기관회계기준규칙의 목적은 병원 회계의 투명성을 확보하기 위해 어떻게 했는가? 바야흐로 우리나라도 병원 재무제표 공시의 시대로 접어 든 것이다(Korea Health Industry Development Institute [KHIDI], 2005). 의료기관회계기준규칙의 목적은 병원 회계의 투명성을 확보하고자 함으로 2004년 300병상 이상 종합병원의 재무제표 공시를 시작으로 단계적으로 그 적용범위를 확대하였다. 2006년부터는 100병상 이상의 종합병원은 매 회계연도 종료일로부터 3개월 이내에 재무제표와 부속명세서를 공시하고, 그 결산서를 보건복지부장관에게 제출하도록 하는 법 개정이 이루어졌다(KHIDI, 2005).
