교사추천이 선발시험에 비하여 가지는 장점은 무엇이 있는가? | 이러한 교사추천이 선발시험에 비하여 가지는 장점은 다양한 측면에서 논의될 수 있다. 우선, 교사 관찰추천은 교사가 학생의 전반적인 학교생활과 행동을 관찰함으로써 이들의 인지적 특성뿐만 아니라 정서 ․ 사회적 및 동기적 특성들을 종합적으로 판단할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 둘째, 검사로부터 오는 스트레스나 부담감, 낮은 성취동기로 인해 검사상황에서 발현되지 못했던 영재성을 포착할 수 있다는 점을 들 수 있다. 또한 종전의 선발절차가 학부모와 학생의 관심에서 시작하여 선발기관의 선발로 종료되었다면, 관찰추천제에서는 전문성을 가진 교사가 주도적으로 학생들을 관찰하고 판별할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 그러므로 새로운 선발체제의 도입과 더불어 그동안 어떠한 이유에서건 영재교육에서 소외되어 왔던 다양한 집단과 지역의 영재들을 가능한 한 많이 발굴할 수 있을 것이라는 기대가 커지고 있다. |
