Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship among the factors of nursing professionalism, critical thinking disposition and self-leadership in nursing students. Methods: The participants were 715 nursing students in tertiary education. Data was collected from March 10 to 14, 2014 using self-report questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficient with SPSS/win 17.0. Results: The mean scores for nursing professionalism ($3.48{\pm}.50$), critical thinking disposition ($3.14{\pm}.27$), self-leadership ($3.44{\pm}.40$) were above average. There was a positive correlation between nursing professionalism and self-leadership (r=.452, p<.01) and between critical thinking disposition and self-leadership (r=.405, p<.001). Conclusion: The result of this study indicates that developing nursing professionalism and critical thinking disposition in nursing students is significant for improving their self-leadership. Therefore the findings suggest meaningful basic data for nursing education.

대상 데이터

본 연구의 대상은 수업연한 4년제 교육과정에 해당되는 일 대학 간호과 1, 2, 3학년 학생으로서 연구의 목적을 이해하고 참여를 수락한 715명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구대상 학교에서 4학년은 수업연한 4년제 교육과정 첫 해 학년으로 선택에 의한 진급이 이루어져 학생수가 1,2,3학년에 비해 과반수 이하로 적으므로 표집편중을 고려하여 본 연구에서는 제외하였다.

데이터처리

∙ 대상자의 간호전문직과, 비판적사고 성향, 셀프리더십간의 관계는 Pearson correlation coefficient로 분석하였다.
∙ 대상자의 간호전문직관, 비판적사고 성향, 셀프리더십 정도는 평균과 표준편차를 구하였다.
∙ 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 간호전문직관, 비판적사고 성향, 셀프리더십 차이는 t-test와 ANOVA로 분석하였고, Scheffe test로 사후검증을 실시하였다.

이론/모형

Manz (1983)가 개발한 설문지를 기초로 Kim (2002)이 수정, 보완한 도구를 사용하였다. 설문지는 자기기대, 리허설, 목표 설정, 자기보상, 자기비판, 건설적 사고 등 6개 요인으로 각각 3문항씩 총 18문항으로 구성되어 있다.
Park (1999)이 개발한 도구로서 총 20문항으로 구성되어 있다. 설문지는 지적 열정과 건전한 회의성 7문항, 지적 정직 6문항, 신중성 4문항, 객관성 3문항의 하위영역으로 구분된다.
Yeun, Kwon과 Ahn (2005)이 개발한 설문지를 기초로 Kim (2008)이 수정․ 보완한 도구를 사용하였다. 설문지는 전문직 자아개념 6문항, 사회적 인식 5문항, 간호의 전문성 3문항, 간호계의 역할 2문항, 간호의 독자성 2문항의 하위영역으로 총 18문항으로 구성되었다.

성능/효과

연구결과 간호대학생의 간호전문직관, 비판적 사고성향, 셀프리더십 정도는 학년, 학과 선택동기, 대인관계, 전공만족에서 유의한 차이가 있었고, 간호전문직관과 셀프리더십, 비판적 사고성향과 셀프리더십 간에는 유의한 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 간호대학생의 간호전문직관과 셀프 리더십, 비판적 사고성향과 셀프리더십 향상을 위한 프로그램 개발에 있어서 학생 개인의 특성, 학습 환경, 전공만족 요인 등과 같은 관련요인을 고려하여야 될 것이다.

연구결과 간호대학생의 간호전문직관, 비판적 사고성향, 셀프리더십 정도는 학년, 학과 선택동기, 대인관계, 전공만족에서 유의한 차이가 있었고, 간호전문직관과 셀프리더십, 비판적 사고성향과 셀프리더십 간에는 유의한 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 간호대학생의 간호전문직관과 셀프 리더십, 비판적 사고성향과 셀프리더십 향상을 위한 프로그램 개발에 있어서 학생 개인의 특성, 학습 환경, 전공만족 요인 등과 같은 관련요인을 고려하여야 될 것이다.
본 연구는 수업연한 4년제 교육과정의 일 간호과 1, 2, 3학년 학생만을 대상으로 수행된 것으로 연구결과를 일반화시키기에 제한이 있다. 이에 추후 연구에서는 다양한 학제와 학년에 따른 비교 연구와 더불어 이러한 개념들의 경험에 대한 질적 연구를 통하여 깊이 있고 통합된 결과를 도출해야 될 것으로 사료된다.
