본 논문은 EU의 스마트 전문화 전략과 미국의 제조업 르네상스 정책을 비판적으로 검토하고 한국 지역산업정책의 방향을 제안한다. EU의 스마트 전문화 전략은 기업가적인 자기발견과 전략적 조정, 미국의 제조업 르네상스 정책은 생태계에 기반한 산업공유자산의 구축, 그리고 한국의 지역산업정책은 클러스터에 기반한 지역혁신체제 구축으로 요약된다.
