CDI 기술은 어떤 기술인가? | CDI 기술은 전기 이중층을 형성하는 캐퍼시터(capacitor)의 원리를 이용한 기술로서 넓은 비표면적을 가진 전극에 전위를 인가하여 물속의 음이온과 양이온이 각각 양극과 음극 표면에 전기 이중층 (electrical double layer, EDL)을 형성하면서 흡착하는 기술이다. 더 이상의 이온을 흡착할 수 없는 포화상태가 되었을 때, 반대로 전극에 전위차를 제거하거나 역전위를 주어 흡착되어있던 이온들이 탈착되면서 농축되어 배출된다. | |
일반적으로 CNT의 응용이 용이하지 않는 이유는? | 이에 본 연구에서는 전기전도도와 비표면적이 높은 탄소나노튜브(Carbon nanotube, CNT)를 도전재로 사용하여 기존 CDI 공정의 에너지 효율을 높이고, 그 특성을 고찰하고자 한다. 그러나 일반적으로 CNT는 나노미터 단위의 작은 입자의 번들 형태로 이루어진 CNT는 분산 문제 때문에 그 응용이 용이하지 않다[18]. 이렇게 분산이 원활히 이루어지지 않고 응집되어 있는 CNT는 전기전도도 감소의 큰 원인이 되기 때문에 탄소전극의 탈염효율을 감소시킬 수 있다[19]. |
