Purpose: The purpose of this study is designed to identity the extent of geriatric hospital nurse's knowledge attitude and fall prevention activities toward falls, thereby identifying the relationship between them. Methods: Knowledge of the falls targeting 350 people who work in the nurse elderly hospital, located at J city, attitudes about fall prevention activity data were collected for nurses working in the geriatric hospital. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheff's test, correlation coefficients. Results: Attitude and prevention activities of fall showed that there is a correlation. Showed that age was a significant effect on falls prevention activities age 45 years and olde and attitude. The higher the fall prevention activities were found to be low. Conclusion: In relationship between knowledge, attitudes and prevention activities regarding falls, knowledge about falls had no correlation with attitude and prevention activities and a correlation was found between attitudes and prevention activity regarding falls. Accordingly, it is required to implement training program to improve nurse's attitude to falls, and repetitive fall prevention training and education is expected to contribute to increasing the practice of fall prevention activity.

본 연구자료 수집기간은 2014년 3월 1일에서 7월 1일 까지 J시에 소재하는 20개의 노인 전문병원 간호부서장에게 사전허락을 받은 후 15개의 노인전문병원을 연구자가 직접 방문하여 간호부를 통해 설문지를 배부하고 수거하였다.

대상 데이터

본 연구는 J시에 소재하는 15개 노인전문병원으로 150병상 이상이며 연구에 참여하기를 원하는 1등급에서 3등급에 해당하는 병원으로, 이들 병원에 근무하는 간호사 350명을 대상으로 하였다.

데이터처리

∙간호사의 일반적 특성, 낙상 관련 특성에 따른 낙상에 관한 지식과 태도, 낙상 예방 활동정도는 t-test,One-way ANOVA, Scheffe's test로 분석하였다.
∙낙상에 관한 지식과 태도 및 낙상 예방 활동 간의 상관관계는 Pearson correlation coefficients로 분석하였다.

성능/효과

낙상 예방활동에서는 연령에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 35세 미만이 45세 이상보다 낙상 예방활동이유의하게 더 높았는데, Kim과 Seo (2002), Seo(2008)의 연구에서도 연령에 따른 낙상 예방활동에서 유의한 차이가 있어 유사한 결과를 보여주었다.
간호사의 낙상에 관한 지식, 태도 및 낙상 예방활동간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 간호사의 낙상에 대한 지식, 낙상에 대한 태도와 낙상 예방활동은 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 낙상에 대한 지식과 태도, 낙상에 대한 지식과 예방활동, 낙상에 대한 태도 와 예방활동에서 상관관계가 있게 나타났다.
본 연구는 노인전문 병원 간호사를 대상으로 낙상에 관한 지식, 태도 및 낙상 예방활동 정도를 파악하고 이들 간의 상관관계를 확인하고자 시도되었다. 연구결과는 간호사의 낙상에 대한 지식과 태도 낙상 예방활동은 비교적 양호한 점수를 나타냈고 간호사의 일반적 특성과 낙상관련특성에 따른 연구결과에서 지식에서는 유의한 차이가 없었으나 태도에서는 근무연수와 현재근무병동, 낙상 예방활동에서는 연령, 근무 중 담당환자의 낙상 경험 횟수, 낙상 예방교육 주최기관, 낙상교육 시행자에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 낙상 예방활동에서는 낙상 교육여부와 교육주최기관, 교육내용에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 이상의 결과를 통해 낙상에 관한 지식이 높으면 낙상에 관한 태도가 높고 태도가 높으면 낙상 예방활동이 높으므로 간호사들에게 낙상 예방활동에 대한 교육을 실시하여 낙상에 대한 관심과 주의 집중할 필요가 있다고 생각한다.

후속연구

향후 연구에서는 본 연구결과를 기반으로 간호사들의 낙상 예방활동을 강화하기 위하여 낙상에 대한 지식과 태도, 예방활동정도를 측정할 수 있는 도구개발이 필요하며, 또한 연구결과를 기반으로 낙상 예방활동에 대한 교육과 중재프로그램을 개발하여 적용할 것을 제안 하는 바이다.
