Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify health promotion behaviors of elementary school teachers and investigate the factors influencing the health promotion behaviors. Methods: Data were collected from 234 elementary school teachers in the B Metropolitan City Office of Education from 5th to 30th October, 2016. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Spearman correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis, using SPSS/WIN 23.0. Results: The elementary school teachers' health perception scored 2.94 out of 4, health status 1.59 out of 3, and health promotion behaviors 2.66 out of 4. The level of mental health status (1.67) was higher than that of physical health status (1.54) and the most practiced health promotion behavior was spiritual growth (3.15) and the least was health responsibility (2.00). Significant negative correlations were found between health perception and health status (r=-.59, p<.001) and between health status and health promotion behaviors (r=-.41, p<.001). A significant positive correlation was found between health perception and health promotion behaviors (r=.32, p<.001). The significant factors influencing health promotion behaviors were job stress and health status. These factors explained 19.6% of the health promotion behaviors. Conclusion: It is necessary to establish measures to increase the health perception and health promotion behaviors of elementary school teachers and improve their health status. In addition, since job stress and health status are factors influencing health promotion behaviors, it is necessary to actively manage job stress and health status in order to increase health promotion behaviors.

본 연구의 자료는 P대학교 생명윤리위원회의 연구 승인(PNU IRB/2016_105_HR)을 받은 후, 2016년 10월 5일부터 2016년 10월 30일까지 수집하였다. B광역시교육청 관내 306개교의 초등학교 중 교육지원청 별 1~3개의 초등학교를 포함한 15개 초등학교를 임의로 선정하였다. 15개 초등학교 중 10개 초등학교의 장이 연구대상자 모집에 승인하여 각 학교 게시판에 연구대상자 모집공고문 부착과 교내 메신저를 통해 대상자를 모집하였다.
25를 대입시 필요한 대상자 수는 200명으로 산출되었으며, 탈락률 20%를 고려하여 240명을 대상으로 하였다. 최종 회수된 설문지는 240부로 회수율 100%였으며, 이 중 응답이 불완전한 설문지 6부를 제외한 총 234부를 최종 분석대상으로 하였다.

데이터처리

수집된 자료는 SPSS/WIN 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계는 빈도와 백분율, 평균, 표준편차로 산출하였고, 일반적 특성에 따른 건강지각, 건강증진행위는 t-test, ANOVA, 사후 검정은 Scheffétest로, 일반적 특성에 따른 건강상태는 정규성가정이 충족되지 않아 Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis test로, 연구변수 간의 상관관계는 Spearman correlation coefficient로, 건강증진행위에 영향을 미치는 요인은 Multiple regression analysis로 분석하였다.

이론/모형

건강상태는 일본 동경대학 의학부 보건학과의 Aoki 등[20]이 개발한 Todai Health Index (THI)를 Kim 등[10]이 한국어로 번역한 도구를 사용하였다. 본 도구는 신체 건강상태 55문항, 정신 건강상태 32문항을 포함하여 총 87문항으로 구성되어 있다.
건강지각은 Ware [6]가 개발한 Health Perception Questionnaire (HPQ)를 한국인의 실정에 맞게 번역하고, Lee와 Chung [7]이 신뢰도가 낮아 전체 신뢰수준에 영향을 미치는 문항들을 제외한 건강지각 측정도구를 사용하였다. 본 도구는 총 20문항으로 각 문항에 대해 ‘전혀 그렇지 않다’ 1점에서 ‘항상 그렇다’ 4점의 4점 평정척도로 구성되어 있으며, 부정적인 문항은 역으로 환산하였다.

성능/효과

본 연구 연구대상자의 변수간의 상관관계를 파악하기 위해 일반적 특성을 통제하여 스피어만 상관계수로 분석한 결과, 건강지각, 건강상태는 건강증진행위 실천정도와 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 대상자의 건강지각과 건강상태는 통계적으로 유의한 음의 상관관계가 있었고(r=-.59, p<.001), 건강상태와 건강증진행위도 통계적으로 유의한 음의 상관관계가 있었으며(r=-.41, p<.001), 건강지각과 건강증진행위는 통계적으로 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였다(r=.32, p<.001).
본 연구결과 건강증진행위에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 직무 스트레스와 건강상태가 통계적으로 유의한 반면 건강지각은 유의하지 않았다. 이는 보육교사의 건강지각이 건강증진행위의 영향요인을 보고한 Lee와 Kim [26]의 연구와 차이가 있었으며, 이러한 차이는 대상자의 특성에 따른 차이로 생각된다.
본 연구결과, 초등학교 교사는 중간보다 높은 정도의 건강지각, 중간 정도의 건강상태 그리고 중간보다 조금 높은 정도의 건강증진행위를 실천하는 것으로 나타나 건강지각, 건강상태와 건강증진행위 향상시키기 위한 방안 마련이 필요할 것이다. 특히, 건강상태 중 가장 호소가 많은 것으로 나타난 다자각 증상과 신경질 증상을 낮추기 위한 통합적이고 포괄적인 건강증진서비스 제공과 건강관리를 위한 학교환경의 조성 등 적극적인 예방사업과 정책이 마련되어야 할 것이다.
