본 연구는 평생교육 프로그램에 참여하는 학습자들의 평생교육 참여동기와 교육만족도를 분석하고, 참여지속의도에 미치는 효과를 분석하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 대학에서 운영되는 평생교육 프로그램의 질을 높이고, 요구도를 반영한 다양한 교육프로그램을 개발하여 성인학습자의 관심과 평생교육 참여지속률을 높이고자 한다. 본 연구는 2017년 5월 1일에서 6월 20일까지 경기도에 소재한 4개 전문대학 부설 평생교육원에서 강좌를 수강하고 있는 성인남녀 412명을 대상으로 수집된 자료를 분석하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS Version 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 대상자의 일반적인 특성, 주요 변수들은 기술통계를 이용하였고, 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 참여동기, 교육 만족도, 참여지속 의도의 차이는 T-test와 ANOVA로 분석하였다. 참여자의 참여동기, 교육 만족도, 참여지속 의도의 관계는 Pearson's correlation으로 분석하였고, 참여자의 참여지속의도 정도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위해 단계적 다중회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 연구대상자의 평생교육프로그램 참여 동기, 교육만족도 및 참여지속 의도 간에는 유의한 정(+)의 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났으며, 대상자의 참여지속의도에 미치는 영향요인은 참여 동기, 교육 만족도, 시설 및 환경 만족도이었고 모형이 유의하고 41.2%의 설명력을 보였다. 이와 같은 결과를 통해 전문대학 평새교육프로그램 학습자의 참여동기를 높이기 위해 참여동기와 교육만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 요인을 고려하여 프로그램을 개발하고 운영할 필요가 있다.

This study was conducted to analyze the effects of motivation and satisfaction with continuing education on the intention to participate in college continuing education programs among adult learners. and participation of continuing education to improve the quality of Continuing education programs operated by College and to develop diverse educational programs that reflect the needs of adult learners and increase their participation rate. This study analyzed data collected from 412 adult males and females taking courses at the Lifelong Education Center in four professional universities in Gyeonggi-do from May 1 to June 20, 2017. Data analysis was performed using SPSS Version 21.0 program, and general characteristics of the subjects were used. Descriptive statistics, t-tests and ANOVA were used to identify differences in participants' motivation, satisfaction with education, and intention to participate. Participants' motivation, satisfaction with education, and intention to participate were analyzed by Pearson's correlation. Participants were analyzed by stepwise multiple regression analysis. There was a significant positive correlation between motivation for participation in college continuing education programs, intention to participate in education programs, and intention to participate. The factors influencing participants' motivation for participation were participation motivation and education satisfaction 41.2%.The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to develop and operate a program considering the factors that can improve motivation for participation and educational satisfaction to increase learner motivation.

본 연구는 전문대학 평생교육프로그램 학습자들의 참여동기와 교육만족도를 분석하고, 참여지속의도 간에 어떤 관계가 있는지를 분석하여 평생교육프로그램을 개발하고자 하였으며, 성인학습자의 참여지속률을 향상시켜 전문대학의 평생교육프로그램의 활성화를 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 시도되었다.
제안 방법
자료 수집 기간은 2017년 5월 1일부터 2017년 6월 20일까지 연구자가 직접 수행하였으며 경기도에 위치하고 전문대학에서 부설 평생교육원을 운영하는 4곳의 성인학습자를 대상으로 하였다. 자료 수집은 연구자가 전문대학 부설 평생교육원을 직접 방문하여 기관장의 허락을 받고 연구 참여에 동의한 성인학습자에게 연구의 목적을 설명하고 설문지를 받았다. 설문지 응답에 소요된 시간은 10-20분이었다.
참여 동기는 학습자가 학습에 참여하는 까닭이 무엇이며, 어떤 마음 상태에서 학습을 하고 싶은지 이유를 나타내는 심리적 상태 변화를 나타내는 것으로 Jeon[15]의 도구를 본 연구 목적에 맞게 일부 수정하여 사용하였다. 참여동기 문항은 총 22문항으로 “전혀 그렇지 않다” 1점에서 “매우 그렇다” 5점의 척도로 되어있다.
참여지속 의도는 Kim[17]의 도구를 본 연구에 맞게 일부 수정하여 사용하였다. 이 도구는 6문항으로 “전혀 그렇지 않다” 1점에서 “매우 그렇다” 5점으로 구성된 Likert 척도이다.
대상 데이터
95, 예측변수 5개로 선정하였을 때 필요한 대상자 수는 246명으로 산출되었다. 본연구에서는 연구에 참여하기로 서면에 동의한 412명의 자료 중 불성실하게 응답한 설문지 12부를 제외한 총 400명의 자료를 최종적으로 분석하여 충분한 자료가 확보되었다. 본 연구의 자료수집 기간은 2017년 5월 1일에서 6월 20일 이었다.

본 연구결과에서는 경기도에 소재한 4개 전문대학의 부설 평생교육원에 수강 중인 성인대상자 만을 연구 대상으로 함에 따라 추후연구에서는 보다 많은 지역 및 다양한 수강생을 대상으로 본 연구를 확대할 필요성이 있다. 이와 더불어 전문대학 평생교육원의 수강생들의 교육참여지속 의도에 영향을 미치는 다양한 변수를 알아보기 위한 반복연구가 필요함을 제언한다.
