This study aimed to examine the effects of rejection sensitivity on depression and anxiety, and the moderating effects of school violence victimization experiences on the relationships between rejection sensitivity and both anxiety and depression. Based on the results, we suggested a method of screening soldiers at high risk of depression and anxiety and interventions for their psychological adaptation. The data about anxiety, depression, rejection sensitivity, and school violence victimization experiences was collected from 126 airmen in S city, South Korea. To test the moderation effects, multiple regression analyses were conducted in which the rejection sensitivity, anxiety, school violence victimization experiences and their interaction terms were hierarchically entered. The moderation of school violence victimization experiences was found in the relationship between rejection sensitivity and school violence victimization experiences. The specific interaction patterns in each of these significant interaction effects were examined. Finally, the importance of school violence victimization experiences as a high-risk factor in army life and the clinical implication of these findings were discussed.

제안 방법

본 연구는 S시 소재 공군부대의 장병들을 대상으로 2017년 4월 24일부터 5월 4일까지 약 2주에 걸쳐 각 부대 간부들이 장병들에게 직접 배부해서 작성하는 방식으로 설문을 실시하였다.

대상 데이터

본 연구를 위해 충남 S시에서 근무하고 있는 공군부대 장병들을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 전문하사 및 병사(이등병∼병장) 180명을 조사 대상으로 하였고 총 180개의 설문지를 배부하였으며 그 중 151부를 회수하였고, 동일패턴 및 무성의한 응답의 설문지 25개를 제외하고 126개의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다.

이론/모형

우울 및 불안을 측정하기 위하여 간이정신진단검사를 사용하였다. 미국 임상 심리학자인 Derogatis가 제작한 90문항의 SCL-90-R을 김광일, 김재환, 원호택[32]이 번안한 간이정신진단검사를 사용하였다. 검사는 90문항으로 구성되어있고 오늘을 포함해서 지난 7일 동안 경험한 증상의 정도에 따라 Likert식 5점 척도 상에서 평정하도록 되어있다.
본 연구에서 사용한 거부민감성척도는 Downey와 Feldman[30]에 의해 개발되었으며, 이복동[31]에 의해 번안, 타당화된 성인초기용 한국판 RSQ를 사용하였다. 이 검사에서는 성인 초기 일상생활에서 경험할 수 있는 18개의 상황을 제시하는데 이는 부모, 친구, 교수, 연인, 잠재적 연인, 잠재적 친구 등의 중요한 타인에게 요구를 해야 하는 상황이다.
학교폭력에 관한 척도는 Olweus[33]의 ‘Bully/Victim Questionnaire’와 ‘Junior Questionnaire’를 안정만[34]이 수정, 보완한 척도를 사용하였다. 본 척도는 신체적 폭력, 집단따돌림, 언어적 폭력, 괴롭힘, 금품 탈취, 심리적 폭력의 내용으로 총 6문항으로 구성된다.

성능/효과

둘째 거부민감성과 우울 및 불안의 관계에서 학교폭력 피해 경험의 조절효과를 검증한 결과, 학교폭력 피해 경험은 유의한 조절효과를 보였다. 즉 학교폭력 피해 경험이 높고 낮음에 따라 거부민감성이 우울 및 불안에 미치는 영향이 달라질 수 있음이 검증되었다.

셋째, 군대에서는 입대 후 심리 검사 등을 통해 관심 병사들을 선별하는데, 이러한 문항들에 거부민감성과 함께 과거 학교폭력 피해 경험이 포함된다면 보다 정확하게 군생활 부적응 고위험군을 선별할 수 있을 것이다. 이를 통해 관계 경험에서의 상처로 인해 군대에서의 단체 생활에 부적응을 경험할 가능성이 높은 장병들을 선별하고 이들에게 이후 군생활에서 경험할 수 있는 어려움들 및 대처방법 등을 사전 교육하고 지속적인 관심을 가질 수 있는 기반을 마련할 수 있을 것이다.
또한 이를 통해 군적응에 있어 고위험군을 찾는데 보다 명확한 정보를 제시할 수 있고, 입대 전 상담적 개입이 필요한 대상도 구체화될 수 있을 것이다. 셋째, 향후 연구에서는 학교폭력 피해 경험이 장병들의 우울, 불안 외에 공격성에 영향을 미치는 지에 대한 연구가 필요할 것이다. 군대 내에서는 우울, 불안, 자살 외에도 폭행, 총기 사고 등 공격성을 드러내는 문제들도 빈발하므로 이에 대한 추가 연구를 통해 장병들의 군 생활에서 다양한 측면의 적응 향상을 위한 방안들을 찾는 것이 필요할 것이다.

	군대에서 겪는 부적응은 어떠한 것이 있는가?	이들이 정신적및 신체적으로 건강한 군 생활을 하는 것은 본인 뿐 아니라 가족 및 주변인들 모두에게 중요한 의미를 가진다. 그러나 여러 연구들에 의하면 병사들 중에는 새로운 환경에서의 다양한 스트레스로 인해 심리 정서적 부적응을 보이며 우울, 자살 및 타살사고, 충동성, 분노, 불안 등을 경험하는 경우가 있고 [1,2]. 이러한 부적응 문제는 폭행, 총기사고, 자살 등의 극단적인 행동으로 이어지기도 한다[3]. 군대에서 이러한 사고가 빈발하면서 장병들의 정신건강과 적응을 돕기 위한 방안으로 군상담이 도입되었다.
