본 연구는 국내 대통령 SNS 기록물의 관리현황을 살펴보고 관리방안을 제안하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 국외 SNS 기록물 관리사례를 살펴보았으며, 국내 대통령기록관 담당자 면담, 대통령 SNS 기록물 관리현황 및 전 현직 대통령의 SNS 계정 운영 현황을 조사 및 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 국내 대통령 SNS 기록물 관리의 문제점을 도출하였으며, 해외사례와 SNS 기록물의 특징을 반영하여 문제점을 해결하기 위한 수집, 관리, 서비스 방안을 제안하였다. 본 연구는 대통령 SNS 기록물의 관리에 대한 논의를 시도하였다는 점과 대통령 SNS 기록물의 기초 연구가 될 수 있다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.

SNS 정치는 어떤 점에서 긍정적으로 평가되고 있는가? 이처럼 SNS 정치는 정치인이 개인 SNS 계정을 만들어 의정활동을 홍보하던 것에서 나아가 국민 개개인이 SNS를 통해 정치인들에게 직접 의견이나 정보를 전달하고, 정치인들이 이를 활용하는 모습을 보이면서 SNS는 직접 정치참여의 수단으로까지 자리를 잡았다. SNS 정치는 정치인들에게 민심을 듣고 소통하는 창구로 삼을 기회를 제공한다는 점에서 긍정적으로 평가되고 있다(파이낸셜 뉴스, 2017).
