The purpose of this study is to confirm whether the parenting stress of mothers with preschool children mediated the parent-child interaction and parenting attitude on children's learning readiness. Data was used from the 5th (2012) to 7th (2014) Korean Children's Panel, and a total of 1,480 data sets were used for the analysis. The age of study participants was five years old. The Amos 23.0 program was used as an analytical tool, and the structural equation model analysis was applied to estimate the path coefficient corresponding to the research question. First, it was expected that mothers' parenting stress negatively affected the parent-child interaction, mother's parenting attitude, and children's readiness. Second, it was assumed that parent-child interaction and the mother's warm parenting attitude were positively significant to children's readiness. Third, the relationship between the parenting stress of mothers and children's learning readiness was partially mediated by a positive parenting attitude. The current study supplies valuable data to establish the educational support and efficiency strategy for domestic children. This study is meaningful in that it provides basic data in preparing a plan to more effectively provide educational support for domestic children.

가설 설정

앞서 살펴본 선행연구를 토대로 본 연구에서는 어머니의 양육 스트레스가 부모-자녀 상호작용과 온정적 양육태도를 매개로 아동의 학습준비도에 영향을 미칠 것이라는 가정을 하였다. 선행연구에서는 아동의 학습준비에 이르는 요인의 양상을 횡단자료를 이용한 분석으로 단편적인 면만을 확인하는 데 그쳤으나 본 연구에서는 시간의 흐름을 고려하여 이를 살펴보고자 하였다.

제안 방법

또한 추정해야 할 모수가 감소하여 측정오차가 감소하고 모형의 적합도가 개선된다. 본 연구에서는 단일요인인 양육 스트레스, 부모-자녀 상호작용, 온정적 양육태도 변인에 문항 꾸러미 방법을 적용하였다. 구체적으로는 각 변인에서 하나의 요인으로 고정된 탐색적 요인분석을 실시한 후 요인 부하량을 기준으로 각 문항의 순위를 매겨 요인 부하량이 가장 높은 문항과 낮은 문항을 순차적으로 묶는 방식을 적용하여 모든 문항 꾸러미가 잠재변인에 대해 비슷한 요인 부하량을 지니도록 제작하였다.

대상 데이터

이론/모형

부모-자녀 상호작용을 측정하기 위하여 ECLS-K(Early Childhood Longitudinal Study Kindergarten Cohort)에서 제작한 HEQ(Home Environment, Activities, Cognitive Stimulation) 중 부모-자녀 상호작용을 묻는 문항을 한국아동패널 연구진이 번안한 문항을 사용하였다. 이 척도는 단일요인이며 Likert 4점(1점:전혀 하지 않음~4점: 매일함)으로 응답하도록 구성되어있고 총 10개 문항이다.
아동의 학습준비도를 측정하기 위하여 Murphey와Burns[43]가 개발하고 한국아동패널 연구진이 수정 및 보완한 문항을 사용하였다. 이 척도 4개 하위요인으로 구성되어 있으며 사회 정서 발달 6문항, 학습에 대한 태도8문항, 의사소통 3문항, 인지 발달 및 일반적 지식 5문항으로 총 22문항이다.
어머니의 양육 스트레스를 측정하기 위하여 김기현과 강희경[40]이 개발하고 한국아동패널 연구진이 수정한척도를 사용하였다. 이 척도는 단일요인이며 Likert 5점(1점: 전혀 그렇지 않다~5점: 매우 그렇다)으로 응답하도록 구성되어 있고 총 11개 문항이다.
어머니의 온정적 양육태도를 측정하기 위하여 조복희,이진숙, 이홍숙과 권희경[42]이 개발하고 한국아동패널연구진이 수정 및 보완한 자녀 양육방식 척도를 사용하였다. 이 척도는 단일요인이며 Likert 5점(1점: 전혀 그렇지 않다~5점: 매우 그렇다)으로 응답하도록 구성되어있고 총 6개 문항이다.
확인적 요인분석을 통해 측정모형을 검증하기에 앞서Russell, Kahn, Spoth와 Altmaier[45]이 제안한 문항꾸러미(Item Parcel) 방법을 적용하였다. 이 방법은 여러 문항을 결합하여 측정변인을 제작하여 분석에 활용하는데 다음과 같은 이점이 있다[46].

성능/효과

넷째, 어머니와 자녀 간의 의사소통과 어머니의 온정적 양육태도는 어머니의 양육 스트레스와 아동의 학습준비도 간의 관계를 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 양육 스트레스가 부모-자녀 상호작용[33, 34,35]과 온정적 양육태도[38, 39] 및 학교준비도[28, 29,30]를 부적으로 예측함을 보고한 연구, 부모-자녀 상호작용이 학습준비를 높일 수 있음을 규명한 연구[13, 17], 온정적 양육태도가 아동의 학교준비도[21, 25]의 촉진요인임을 확인한 연구[21, 25]와 일치한다.
둘째, 어머니의 온정적 양육태도는 아동의 학습준비도를 정적으로 유의미하게 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 만 6세 시기의 아동을 온정적으로 양육한 어머니의 태도는 다음 해에 아동의 학습준비 수준을 높이는 것으로 나타났다.
양육 스트레스는 1년차 변인, 부모-자녀 상호작용과 온정적 양육태도는 2년차 변인, 학습준비도는3년차 변인이다. 먼저, 직접효과를 살펴보면 양육 스트레스는 부모-자녀 상호작용(β=-.29, p<.001), 학습준비도(β=-.07, p<.05), 온정적 양육태도(β=-.45, p<.001)를 부적으로 유의미하게 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉양육 스트레스가 높을수록 다음 해의 부모-자녀 상호작용 및 온정적 양육태도와 또 그 다음 해의 학습준비도가 낮아지는 것으로 확인되었다.
셋째, 어머니의 양육 스트레스는 부모-자녀 상호작용, 어머니의 온정적 양육태도, 아동의 학습준비도에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 첫해 년도의 양육 스트레스가 이듬해의 부모-자녀 상호작용과 온정적 양육태도에 부정적인 영향을 미치고 또 그 다음 해의 아동의 학습준비를 낮추는 것으로 나타난 본 연구결과는 부모의 양육스트레스가 부모-자녀 간의 상호작용을 악화시킴을 확인한 연구[33, 34, 35], 양육 스트레스가 부모의 온정적 양육태도를 낮춤을 보고한 연구[38, 39], 양육 스트레스와 아동의 학교준비도 간의 부적 관계를 탐색한 연구[30,31, 32]와 일맥상통한다.
측정모형의 요인 부하량(표준화 회귀계수)을 Table 4에 제시하였다. 양육 스트레스는 .86~.90, 부모-자녀 상호작용은 .71~.86, 온정적 양육태도는 .77~.90, 학습준비도는 .71~.87로 모든 요인부하량이 .5보다 큰 것으로 나타나[51] 12개의 측정변인으로 4개의 잠재변인을 구성한 측정모형이 자료에 타당함을 확인하였다.
양육 스트레스가 학습준비도에 미치는 영향에서 부모-자녀 상호작용과 온정적 양육태도가 매개하는 모형의 구조방정식모형 분석결과를 Table 5와 Figure 2에제시하였다. 양육 스트레스는 1년차 변인, 부모-자녀 상호작용과 온정적 양육태도는 2년차 변인, 학습준비도는3년차 변인이다. 먼저, 직접효과를 살펴보면 양육 스트레스는 부모-자녀 상호작용(β=-.

후속연구

둘째, 아버지의 자녀 양육이 더욱 중요해 지고 있는 만큼 아버지와 자녀 간의 관계에 관한 연구가 필요할 것이다.
본 연구에서는 기관 차원에서 설문조사를 실시하였다는 점에서 종단 자료임에도 비교적 많은 사례를 확보하였으나 이를 국내 전체의 어머니와 자녀와의 관계로 일반화하기에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 추후 연구에서는 더욱 많은 표본을 활용하여 일반화 가능성을 높일 필요가 있다. 또한 자료수집 방법으로 인터뷰 등과 같은 질적조사도 병행한다면 보다 심도있는 결과를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.
이는 국내아동을 위한 교육적 지원과 대책이 보다 효과적으로 적용될 수 있는 방안을 마련하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 또한 부모와 아동인 자녀가 함께 참여하여 아동의 원활한 학습을 촉진하는 프로그램 개발에 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

	학습준비도에 대한 관점이 어떻게 변화하였는가?	또한 아동의 행동과 인지발달 및 교실에서의 적응에 관한 폭 넓은 개념으로도 해석되기도 한다[3]. 학습준비도에 대한 초기 관점은 대체로 학업성취를 위한 문제해결력과 인지적 기술에 초점이 맞춰져 있었으나 최근에는 인지적 측면, 사회정서적 측면, 태도적 측면을 모두 고려하여 포괄적으로 다루어지고 있다[4, 5]. 학습준비가 잘 되어 있는 아동은 또래나 교사와 원만한 대인관계를 형성하고 학업성취도 수준이 우수한 반면[6, 7] 학습준비도가 낮은 아동은 지속적인 학업문제를 나타내고[8] 또래 및 교사와 충돌하는 경향이 있다[9, 10].
