小柴胡湯란? 小柴胡湯은 『傷寒論』에 가장 먼저 등장한 처방으로서, 『傷寒論』 내에서도 그 쓰임이 많고, 小柴胡加芒硝湯이나 다른 瀉心湯類로의 변주에 뿌리가 되는 처방이다. 小柴胡湯에 관한 국내 연구는 많은데, 동물 실험 연구들이 많으며, 구 등13)의 증례 보고는 『傷寒論』의 小柴胡湯 조문을 참고하였지만, 宋本 『傷寒論』의 주석을 인용하였고, 김 등14)의 증례보고에서는 開闔樞 이론을 小柴胡湯의 寒熱往來와 연결 지어 처방 근거를 마련하였는데, 진단의 정합성에 초점을 맞춘 연구는 아니었다.
