목표의 중요성은 꾸준히 강조되고 있다. 자아 정체감을 형성하는 청소년 시기의 학생들에게 자신의 성향에 맞는 진로 및 직업을 택하는 일은 자아실현과 인생의 방향을 결정하는 데 중요한 역할을 하며, 현대 사회가 고도의 정보화 사회, 산업사회로 빠르게 발전함으로 인해서 진로를 위해 준비하고 노력하는 과정은 더 이상 개인적인 문제가 아닌 사회적인 문제로 자리 잡게 되었다. 본 연구는 청소년의 그릿이 진로준비행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 파악하고 그릿과 진로준비행동 간에 사회적 지지의 매개효과가 있는지 검증함으로써 청소년의 진로준비행동에 효과적인 도움을 주고자 한다. 본 연구는 일반계 중학교에 재학 중인 청소년 426명을 대상으로 AMOS 22.0과 SPSS Statistics 22.0을 이용하여 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 그릿은 사회적 지지와 진로준비행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 사회적 지지도 진로준비행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 그릿과 진로준비행동의 관계에서 사회적 지지와 하위요인인 정보적지지와 정서적지지, 평가적지지와 물질적지지 모두 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 그릿과 사회적 지지는 진로준비행동에 영향을 미치는 변인임을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러므로 청소년의 진로준비행동을 향상시키기 위해서는 학교와 가정환경에서 사회적 지지를 제공함은 물론 개인의 특성인 그릿을 증진시키는 것이 도움이 될 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of the GRIT of teenagers on their career preparation behaviors and verify whether there is a mediating effect between GRIT and the career preparation behaviors with a view to assisting such career preparation behaviors. For this study, an analysis was conducted using AMO 22.0 and SPSS Statistics 22.0, with 426 teenagers in general middle schools. The findings of the analysis were as follows. First, the GRIT of teenagers had a significant impact on social support and career preparation behaviors. Social support had a significant effect on career preparation behaviors, as well. Second, in the relationship between the GRIT of the teenagers and their career preparation behaviors, social support, and the sub-elements of the social supports, which are emotional support, information support, evaluatory support, and material support, all had mediating effects. These study findings showed that GRIT and social support were influential factors upon career preparation behaviors. Therefore, in order to promote career preparation behaviors among teenagers, it is necessary to provide social support in the family and school environments, and it is also helpful to enhance the GRIT, which is an individual trait.

제안 방법

청소년의 사회적 지지 수준 측정을 위하여 박지원 (1985)의 사회적 지지 척도[30]를 청소년을 대상으로 한 박지윤(2017)의 척도[42]를 수정·보완하여 사용하였다. 사회적지지 척도는 정보적 지지(6문항)와 정서적 지지(7문항), 그리고 물질적 지지(6문항)와 평가적 지지(6문항) 총 25문항으로 구성되었다.
청소년의 진로준비행동 수준을 측정하기 위해 Stumpf 외 (1983)가 개발한 CES(Career Exploration Survey)[38], Slaney(1983)의 Vocational Questionnaire Ⅱ[39], 그리고 Westbrook 외(1985)의 Career Planning Questionnaire[40], 김봉환(1997)의 진로준비행동 측정도구[22] 등을 참고하여 박완성(2002)이 고등학생을 대상으로 한 진로준비행동 척도[41]를 수정하여 사용하였다. 진로준비행동 척도는 직업체험활동(5문항), 정보수집활동(10문항), 취업준비활동(2문항), 직업·학과결정활동(5문항)의 총 22문항으로 구성되었다.

대상 데이터

본 연구의 대상자는 청소년기를 정의하고자 할 때 사용하는 청소년 기본법(9세 이상 24세 이하)을 고려해, 일반계 중학교에 재학 중인 청소년을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 이들을 대상으로 설문조사는 총 440부를 실시하였다.
응답에 대한 실시는 각 담임 선생님의 지도하에 연구에 대한 목적을 설명 후 설문을 실시하였다. 설문지는 배포한 440부 모두 회수, 불성실하게 답변한 설문 자료 14부(3.2%)를 제외하여, 최종 유효 표본을 426부(96.8%)로 결정하여 실증분석에 활용하였다.

데이터처리

본 연구는 청소년의 그릿(노력의 꾸준함과 관심의 지속성) 및 진로준비행동(정보수집활동과 직업학과결정활동, 직업체험활동, 취업준비활동), 사회적지지(정서적지지, 정보적지지, 물질적지지, 평가적지지) 간 관계 분석을 위하여 상관관계 분석을 실시하였고, 분석결과, Table 1과 같다. 본 연구에서의 측정변수들의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 0.
본 연구의 측정도구인 그릿, 진로준비행동, 사회적 지지의 타당도 및 신뢰도 분석을 위해 확인적 요인분석(CFA)을 실행하였다.

이론/모형

본 연구에서 설문을 실시하기 위해 사용될 측정도구는 다음과 같으며, 모든 문항들은 Likert의 5점 척도(1점, 전혀 그렇지 않다, 5점, 매우 그렇다)로 구성되었다. 먼저 청소년의 그릿 수준을 측정하기 위해 Duckworth 외(2007)가 개발[8]한 Original Grit Scale(Grit-O)를 이수란, 손영우(2014)이 번안한 척도[17]를 사용하였다. 그릿 척도는 노력의 꾸준함(6문항)과 관심의 지속성(6문항)을 측정하는 총 12항목으로 구성되었고, 신뢰도를 검증하기 위한 Cronbach's α값은 관심의 일관성 0.
자료를 분석하기 위하여 AMOS 22.0과 SPSS Statistics 22.0 통계프로그램을 사용하였으며, 가설검증을 위한 분석방법으로 구조방정식 모형을 사용하였다.

성능/효과

둘째, 청소년의 그릿과 진로준비행동의 관계에서 사회적 지지는 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 하위요인인 정보적 지지, 정서적 지지, 평가적지지, 물질적지지 모두 매개효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 즉, 중학생들이 장기간 목적달성을 위하여 자신의 흥미를 꾸준히 노력하고 유지 하려고 한다면 교사, 친구, 부모로부터 사회적 지지를 많 이 받게 될 경향이 높고, 이러한 태도가 실천적인 방식으 로 이어져 진로를 준비하는 행위를 위한 행동을 강화시키는 것으로 이해할 수 있다.
첫째, 청소년의 그릿은 사회적 지지와 진로준비행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 사회적 지지도 진로준비행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 그릿이 사회적지지[10]와 진로준비행동 [10-11]에 영향을 미친다고 한 선행연구의 결과와 일맥 상통하고, 김소영과 홍세희(2013)의 연구에서 청소년의 진로탐색행동에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 사회적 지지를 언급한 것[34]과 일치하는 결과이다.

후속연구

특히 사회적 지지, 진로준비행동과 그릿은 학습과 관련된 동기적 차원이나 학업수행 과정과 관련된 변인으로 학습 성과와 밀접한 관련이 있을 것으로 예측된다. 그러므로 학업 성과와 관련된 변인인 학업 성취도를 포함하여 더욱 통합적인 후속 연구가 요구된다.
본 연구는 A시에 거주하는 일반계 중학생 대상으로 조사하였기 때문에, 본 연구의 결과를 모든 중학생들에게 일반화시키는데 한계가 있다. 그러므로 후속 연구에서는 연구의 대상을 대표성을 지닌 표집으로 채택하여 연구를 시행하고 신뢰도 및 타당도를 높일 필요가 있다. 둘째, 본 연구모형을 통해 그릿, 사회적 지지와 진로준비행동의 관계를 알아보았으나, 아직 다루지 못한 주요 변인들이 존재할 수 있다.
