홍콩, 마카오를 포함한 중국에서는 중증급성호흡기증후군로 인하여 몇명의 감염자와 사망자가 발생하였는가? 중국은 2003년 중증급성호흡기증후군(SARS) 대유행을 겪었다. 이로 인해 홍콩, 마카오을 포함해 7천여 명의 감염자와 650여 명의 사망자가 발생했다4). 중국 정부는 SARS 대유행으로 기존 보건의료 시스템만으로 충분한 방역이 이루어지지 못하자 세계보건기구의 관련 전문가들의 지도를 통해 중의약을 활용하였으며5) 눈에 띄는 성과를 거두었다.
