본 연구는 베이비부머의 재취업 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 것이다. 이를 위해 확장된 목표지향 행동모델(extended MGB)을 연구 모형으로 설정하였다. 본 연구에 활용된 확장된 목표지향 행동모델은 독립변수로 태도, 사회적 규범, 긍정적 기대정서, 인지된 행동통제 변인에 경제적 준비도와 사회적 자본을 추가하였다. 매개 변수로 열망을 그리고 최종 종속변수로 재취업의도를 설정하였다. 설정된 연구모형에 대해 베이비부머 201명을 대상으로 설문 조사한 결과를 바탕으로 구조방정식을 활용하여 실증적으로 분석을 하였다. 실증분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 경제적 준비도는 베이비부머의 재취업의도에 부(-)의 영향을 미쳤다. 사회적 자본은 재취업의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 자본 보다는 경제적 준비도 여부가 베이비 부버의 재취업 의도에 더 강한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 태도, 사회적 규범, 긍정적 기대정서, 인지된 행동통제 변인은 재취업의도에 유의한 직접적인 영향관계는 검정 되지 않았다. 이들은 열망이라는 매개 변수를 통해 재취업의도에 유의한 영향관계를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 실증분석 결과를 토대로 학술적인 시사점과 실무적인 시사점을 제시하였다.
