문화적 역량이란? | 국내 의료시장에 대한 외국인 환자의 수요에 발맞추어 내국인은 물론 다양한 문화적 배경을 지닌 환자와 효과적으로 상호작용하고 그들에게 적절한 치료를 제공하기 위해 보건의료인인 작업치료사는 문화적 역량을 개발해야 한다(Mu, Coppard, Bracciano, Doll, & Matthews, 2010). 문화적 역량(cultural competence)이란 다양한 문화를 인정하고 다양한 문화적 배경을 지닌 이들과의 차이 및 그들의 욕구를 이해하며, 그들과 효과적으로 상호작용하며 협력할 수 있는 능력을 뜻한다(Sue, Zane, Nagayama Hall, & Berger, 2009). 보건의료에서의 문화적 역량을 고려한 서비스는 임상치료와 보건의료인의 치료기술의 효과성과 효율성을 향상시켜서 의료서비스에 대한 클라이언트의 만족도를 높인다(Brach & Fraserirector, 2000). | |
