The purpose of this study is to confirm the general characteristics of 119 paramedics who are treating early emergency patients and to confirm the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction and to examine the effect of stress on satisfaction, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 365 paramedics in four Chungcheong provinces. The reliability of the job stress tool was Cronbach α = .87. The job satisfaction tool was Cronbach α = .84. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS WIN 18.0 program. There were differences among the sub - variables of general characteristics, but the general characteristics excluding academic ability were less correlated with job stress, and job satisfaction was higher when the subjects' age, number of dispatches and field hours were smaller. Job stress was found to be low when stress was high on first aid, dispatch, transport, medical guidance, conflicts and emergencies excluding partners. To reduce job stress of 119 paramedics, it is recommended to provide institutional support and education to improve the ability to recruit new emergency personnel and to provide emergency medical care and guidance because of diversification of dispatch methods and appropriate stress management.

Choi & Kim[19]의 J도의 119 구급대원의 직무스트레스와 피로도 연구에서 활용한 직무스트레스 측정도구 (Cronbach α=.80) 24개 문항을 기반으로 본 연구의 하위 요인을 재구성하였으며, 선행연구 하부영역 7개 요인 중 직무수행 내용을 토대로 119구급대원의 실제 실행직무와 직무수행의 상황을 5년 이상 된 구급대원 3명 직무내용 회의를 통하여 수정⁃보완하였으며 총 50개 문항을 검출하여 항목에 대한 요인분석을 실시하고, 7개 영역의 22개 문항을 제외한 28개 문항을 채택하였다. 28개의 조사 문항의 구성은 출동관련 6문항, 이송 5문항, 의료지도 4문항, 응급처치 3문항, 구급차 동승자 3문항, 조직내 관계갈등 4문 항과 중증의 응급상황 3문항으로 구성하였으며 스트레스 척도는 1점부터 10점으로 구분하고 점수가 높을수록 스트레스가 높다는 것을 의미한다.

대상 데이터

본 연구의 대상자는 충청지역 4개 도시인 충청남북도와 대전광역시 세종시에 근무하는 소방공무원 중 현 119구급대원이다.
자료수집 기간은 2017년 5월 15일부터 7월 21일까지 실시되었으며, 항목 응답 누락 등의 자료 37명을 제외한 최종 363명의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다.

데이터처리

수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 우선 일반적 특성은 빈도(명)와 백분율(%)을 산출하였으며, 일반적 특성에 따른 직무스트레스와 직무만족도는 t-test와 One- way ANOVA로 변인간의 차이를 알아보았으며, 직무스트레스와 직무만족도와의 관계는 상관관계분석(Correlation)을 하였고 마지막으로, 직무스트레스가 직무만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구는 119구급대원의 일반적 특성에 따른 직무스트레스와 직무만족도를 확인하고 직무스트레스와 직무만족도의 상관관계를 확인하고자 하였다. 직무스트레스와 직무만족도 측정도구는 119구급대원의 출동과정을 토대로 작성한 측정도구를 사용하였으며, 도구의 내적 신뢰도 Cronbach α 값이 직무스트레스는 0.87, 직무만족도는 0.84로 본 연구의 측정도구는 신뢰할 수 있다고 보여 진다.(α>0.60).

Choi & Kim[19]이 사용한 설문도구를 기초로 재구성하였으며 일반적인 특성은 보편적인 항목인 성별, 나이, 최종학력, 근무경력을 보완하였고 119 구급대원만의 일반적 특성인 근무형태, 1일 평균 출동 건수, 1일 평균 현장 활동시간을 보완하여 조사하였다.

성능/효과

119구급대원들은 직무스트레스가 높을수록 직무만족도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다(r=-.246, p<.001). 특히 하위 항목 근무형태(r=-.
일반적 특성에 따른 직무스트레스는 최종학력에서만 유의미한 차이를 보였고(F=3.32, p<.05). 성별, 나이 근무경력, 1일 평균 출동 건수와 현장 활동시간에 따른 직무스트레스는 구간별 차이는 있었으나 전체적으로 유의미한 차이는 없었다. 하위영역에서 여성이 남성보다 직무스트레스가 높게 나타났으며 이는 남성위주의 소방조직에서 여직원의 부담이 크게 작용한다[20]는 연구와 일치하며, 보통 구급출동 시 2인이 출동하는 시스템 속에서 여성은 환자실에 환자 또는 보호자와 단독으로 격리되고 처치에 대하여 재촉하는 언행 등에 대한 심적 부담이 큰 것으로[21] 판단되며, 남성은 동승자가 남성일 때와 여성일 때의 역할이 변하고 신체적 부담이 늘어나는 것에 대한 부담이 크게 작용한 것으로 보인다.

후속연구

결국, 119구급대원들은 출동으로 인한 스트레스가 높을수록 직무만족도가 낮아지므로 출동차량의 증가 또는 인원을 추가 배치하여 순환적 출동 시스템을 운영하고 출동이 적은 경우 응급처치에 대한 의료지도 및 응급상황에 대한 스트레스가 높아 주기적이고 정기적인 교육과 훈련을 통해 출동에 대한 불안감과 직무스트레스를 줄여하며 제도적으로 프로그램을 지원하고 개발하여야 한다. 따라서 이러한 출동시스템과 교육이 원활하게 이루어지려면 소방공무원 채용 시 구급대원의 비율을 높이는 방안이 반드시 반영되어야 하고 신지식 습득과 유지를 위한 교육지원은 물론 스트레스 관리를 위한 프로그램도 지속적으로 개발되어지고 참여 할 수 있는 여건을 제공하여 함은 물론 119구급대원 스스로 스트레스를 해소하기 위한 적극적인 노력이 필요하겠다.
