사물놀이 연주자의 악기 대상관계 경험

본 연구의 목적은 연주자가 사물놀이에서 경험하는 악기와의 대상관계 현상을 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구자는 사물놀이 연주자 5명을 대상으로 반구조화된 개방형 질문을 통한 심층 면담을 시행하고 자료를 수집하였으며 Giorgi(2004)의 현상학적 연구 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 121개의 의미단위, 7개의 하위 범주, 3개의 대범주가 도출되었다. 3개의 대범주는 '중간대상의 매체', '내적 욕구 표현 및 인식의 수단', '타인 인식과 소통의 도구'로 나타났다. 사물놀이에서 악기는 연주자에게 내적 몰입을 도와주는 대상 경험을 하게 하는 매체가 된다. 또한 연주자는 악기연주를 통해 자신의 내적 욕구를 표현하고 자신의 성격과 정체성에 대해 새롭게 인식한다. 이와 동시에 연주자는 악기 특성과 사물놀이에서의 역할에 따라 악기를 사람처럼 대상화하여 내적 표상을 형성하고 이를 중심으로 연주에서의 관계를 이해하고 타연주자와 소통한다. 마지막으로 사물놀이에서 악기는 연주자에게 이상적 자기 성격에 따른 대리적 대상의 역할을 한다. 본 연구의 결과는 사물놀이라는 합주 형태가 연주자의 대상관계 발달을 촉진하며 연주자의 내면화된 표상체계와 상호작용 방식을 외화하고 있음을 알 수 있게 해준다. 본 연구는 연주자와 악기 간의 심리내적인 기능적 관계를 밝히고 음악치료에서 사물놀이 악기 활용에 대한 기초를 제시해주었다는데 의의가 있다.
