본 연구는 대학생들의 학술정보 포털에 대한 수요를 조사하고 ScienceON이 대학생들의 친화적 포털이 될 수 있도록 개선방안 도출을 진행했다. 이를 위해 ScienceON과 유사한 학술정보 포털을 조사하여 ScienceON과 비교 분석하였으며, 대학생을 대상으로 FGI 면담을 실시하여 대학생이 느끼는 ScienceON의 문제점을 기반으로 개선점을 도출하였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 제시하는 개선방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 통합검색 기능을 강화하고 대학생들이 원하는 정보를 모두 ScienceON에서 얻을 수 있다는 확신을 심어주어야 한다. 둘째, 대학생들이 선호하는 구글 및 네이버와 같은 UI를 갖출 필요가 있으며, 현재의 딱딱한 디자인의 개선이 필요하다. 셋째, 대학교 저학년을 타겟으로 홍보를 진행하여 ScienceON을 익숙하게 만들어야 한다. 현재 대학생들은 MZ세대에 속하는 연령층으로 MZ세대는 향후 사회적 핵심을 이루는 세대가 될것으로 전망되며, 이에 MZ세대에 대한 관련 연구가 늘어나고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 MZ세대에 대한 연구의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 특히 MZ세대의 정보검색 및 서비스에 대한 수요에 대해 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 보인다.
