수학 교과서 연구의 동향 분석: 1963년부터 2021년까지 게재된 국내 수학교육 학술지 논문을 중심으로

수학 교수 학습을 지원하기 위한 자원으로서의 수학 교과서는 우리나라 수업에서 특히 중요하게 활용된다. 그동안 수학 교과서 연구의 범위가 확장되고 그에 따른 연구가 많아지고 있지만, 정작 우리나라의 수학 교과서 연구의 전반적인 동향을 분석한 연구는 많지 않다. 본 연구는 국내 수학교육 학술지에 게재된 논문 중 수학 교과서와 관련된 418편의 논문을 대상으로 전반적인 교과서 연구의 동향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 교과서 분석 연구의 비중이 압도적으로 높았고, 다음으로 교과서 활용 연구, 교과서 개발 연구의 순서로 나타났다. 전체적으로 중고등학교급보다 초등학교급에서 교과서 연구가 많았다. 교과서 분석 연구의 경우는 특정한 수학 개념을 교과서에 어떻게 제시하였는지 분석하는 연구가 가장 많았고, 교과서 활용 연구의 경우는 교사와 학생을 대상으로 교과서의 적절성을 검토하거나 특정 코너나 활동에 대한 인식 및 사용실태를 설문조사를 바탕으로 분석하는 경우가 많았다. 교과서 개발 연구의 경우는 스토리텔링과 전자교과서와 같은 새로운 교과서 개발 방향과 예시를 다루는 논문이 많았다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 토대로, 본 논문은 국내 수학교육 맥락과 국외 수학 교과서 연구의 동향에 비추어 교과서 연구에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.
