근거이론을 통한 수학학습의 성공경험에 대한 분석

수학학습에서 좋은 학업성취를 내는 것은 인지적 요인, 정의적 요인, 사회 환경적 요인 등 다양한 요인이 작용하는 매우 복잡한 과정이다. 지금까지 수행된 다수의 선행 연구들에서 수학학습에 영향을 미치는 특정한 요인들이 있으며 이러한 요인들이 수학학습에 긍정적 혹은 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 이러한 연구들은 변인을 제한하여 연구를 수행했기에 학습자의 관점에서 수학학습에 있어서의 좋은 성취를 얻기 위해서는 어떠한 점이 필요한지에 대한 종합적인 분석 결과를 제시하지는 못했다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 수학학습에서 성공을 경험한 학생들을 대상으로 하여 수학학습에서 성공을 경험한 학생들이 어떠한 경험의 과정을 겪었는지를 근거이론의 분석방법으로 분석하였다. 또한 수집된 자료를 분석하여 수학학습의 성공 경험에 이르는 과정을 설명하고자 했다. 분석 결과, 학생들은 '새로운 국면 단계', '경험 축적 단계', '견디기 단계', '유지 노력 단계'의 과정을 거쳐 성공적인 학습자로서의 정체성을 형성하는 것으로 드러났다. 본 연구를 통해서 수학학습에서 성공을 경험하는 과정을 살펴봄으로써 수학학습에서 성공을 경험하기 위해 어떠한 행동이 필요한지에 대한 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다.
