RésuméCes dernières années ont vu des progrès significatifs dans notre compréhension des mécanismes par lesquels les cytokines agissent pour provoquer l'inflammation, ce qui a conduit à l'apparition d'un certain nombre d'approches originales comme le traitement par cytokines dans la prise en charge des maladies allergiques. Le traitement par cytokines comprend des antagonistes, des cytokines (anticorps aux cytokines et récepteurs solubles des cytokines), des antagonistes des récepteurs des cytokines et la restauration de l'équilibre entre Th-1 et Th-2. Les études sur l'animal, et in vitro, de la thérapie par cytokines semblent très prometteuses. Il reste à voir toutefois si la thérapie par cytokines va avoir une utilité pour le patient atopique et si elle sera aussi efficace que les thérapies conventionnelles avec moins d'effets latéraux.
