화훼장식용 건조소재 개발을 위하여 한국에 자생하는 침엽수 10종을 20㎝ 길이로 잘라 건조가공에 적합한 글리세린 농도, Tween 20 및 녹색색소의 농도를 조사하였다. 침엽수 절지를 30, 40, 50, 60%의 글리세린 용액에 침지한 결과 모두 10일 이내에 흡수가 완료되었다. 절지의 유연성은 60% 용액에 침지한 절지에서 글리세린의 잔존량이 많아 좋았으나 경제성 측면에서는 50% 용액에 침지하는 것이 좋은 것으로 나타났다. Tween 20은 글리세린 용액에 1㎖ㆍℓ⁻¹ 첨가 시 저농도이면서도 글리세린 용액의 흡수를 촉진시켰다. 글리세린 50%+Tween 20 1㎖ㆍℓ⁻¹ 용액에 녹색 식용색소를 0, 1, 10, 15gㆍℓ⁻¹ 첨가한 결과 전체적으로 건조전과의 색차값은 4.5-25.0이었으며, 15gㆍℓ⁻¹에서 고르게 착색되었다.
