본 연구에서는 초등학생의 창의성과 생활문화 그리고 과학적 요소가 통합된 창의적 생활문화 체험교육을 위한 ‘생활창의교실’ 프로그램을 개발하고자 한다. 이를 위해 우리나라 5, 6학년 각 교과의 교과서에 수록된 의생활, 식생활 관련 내용을 분석하였으며, 이 결과에 근거하여 생활창의교실 프로그램을 개발하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 초등학교 각 교과의 교과서를 분석한 결과, 의생활 관련 내용은 5학년의 경우 도덕, 사회, 미술, 체육, 실과에서, 6학년의 경우 도덕, 미술, 체육, 실과에서 주로 다루고 있었다. 식생활 관련 내용은 국어, 사회, 과학, 미술, 음악, 체육, 실과에서 주로 다루고 있었다.
둘째, 식생활 관련 내용은 5학년의 경우 국어, 사회, 과학, 미술, 음악, 체육, 실과에서, 6학년의 경우 도덕, 국어, 사회, 과학, 미술, 음악, 실과에서 주로 다루고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, ‘생활창의교실’ 프로그램은 아동으로 하여금 창의적이고 과학적이며 의생활 및 식생활문화를 계승 발전해 나갈 수 있는 바탕을 마련하고자 의류학과 식품영양학을 구성하는 하위 영역을 기본으로 하여 아동의 일상생활이나 상상의 세계에서 꿈꿀 수 있는 통합적 내용으로 각각 4개의 주제로 구성하였다. 각 영역은 내용에 따라 창의, 과학, 문화에 대한 이해를 목표로 하고 있으며, 각 영역별로 5개의 하위 주제로 구성되어 총 20개의 활동으로 되어 있으나, 학교의 여건에 따라 영역별로 하위주제를 선택적으로 조절할 수 있다.

This study aims to develop a "Creative Activity Class for Family Culture" program which is intended for teaching/learning of creative hands-on activities useful for daily life and integrates creativity, family culture and scientific elements required for elementary schoolstudents. For this purpose, clothing and dietary life related contents included in the textbook of each subject for fifth and sixth graders at elementary schools in South Korea were analyzed, and based on the results, a Creative Activity Class for Family Culture program was developed. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, analyses of the textbook of each subject for fifth graders at elementary schools show that clothing related contents are addressed primarily by Moral Education, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Physical Education, and Practical Arts, while dietary life related contents are addressed mainly by Korean Language, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, Music, Physical Education, and Practical Arts. Second, analyses of the textbook of each subject for sixth graders at elementary schools show that primarily Moral Education, Fine Arts, Physical Education, and Practical Arts subjects address clothing related contents, while Moral Education, Korean Language, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, Music, and Practical Arts address dietary life related contents. Finally, the said ‘Creative Activity Class for Family Culture" program was composed comprehensively of four themes as categorized based on the subdomains of clothing science and food & nutrition science, which is intended to guide children to more creative and scientific clothing and dietary practices in their daily lives. The objectives of the respective domains were understanding of creativity, science and culture according to their contents, and each domain consists of five subthemes and contains a total of twenty activities, provided that the subthemes can be selected for each domain at the discretion of individual schools depending upon their circumstances.
