The specific empirical analysis methods used here were Reliability Analysis, Descriptive Statistics, One-way ANOVA, Correlation Analysis, MANOVA and Regression Analysis.
Four main results were found from the study.
Firstly, in case of the effect of stress on depression and suicidal ideation, the stress was positively correlated with depression and suicidal ideation. In other words, the stress affected depression positively and depression had an effect on suicidal ideation positively and directly. This showed the more the unemployed were stressed, the more they were depressed and depression increased suicidal ideation. Moreover, as the stress grew, it could raise suicidal ideation directly.

In the case of problem-focused coping ways, it showed negative correlation with depression and in the case of emotion-focused coping, it showed positive correlations with depression and suicidal ideation, alike. It was found that the problem-focused coping functions to lower and the emotion-focused coping functions to raise the depression and suicidal ideation of the unemployed.
Thirdly, in case of the effect of social support on depression and suicidal ideation, social support had negative correlations with depression and suicidal ideation. This means that the high degree of social support functions to reduce depression and suicidal ideation.
Finally, in the differences of depression and suicidal ideation according to types of the ways of coping and the degree of social support, especially, the main effect and the interactional effect of the ways of coping and social support with suicidal ideation were significant. Namely, this indicated that as the unemployed had a higher degree of social support and more problem-focused coping, they showed lower suicidal ideation.
In conclusion, the core of the study is to propose for stress, depression, and suicidal ideation reduction in the circumstance of crisis by increasing problem-focused coping of the unemployed and also to plan for strengthening of social support services.
