This study is aimed to examine the effectiveness of the ordinary physical activities as well as the physical activities applied psychomotricity to improve physical strength and neuro-physiological variables and enhance emotional stability and sociability among the intellectually-retarded children and to provide scientific and systematic physical activities applied psychomotricity for wholistic personal development. The subjects in this study were those children with intellectual disability of age between 9 and 14 whose social quotient score ranged between 55 and 74. 75 subjects were selected with the purposive sampling method. The subjects were assigned either the physical activity applied psychomotricity program group (n=25), ordinary physical activity program group (n=25) or control group (n=25). Pre-and post-test on physical strength, neuro-physiological variables, emotional ability and social ability were conducted. The physical activity applied psychomotricity program and the ordinary physical activity program consisted of three 50-minute sessions per week for 24 weeks. The exercise strength applied was at 9 to 13 level of the Ratings of Perceived Exertion. Those in the control group maintained their ordinary life styles. The data in this study was submitted to SPSS Ver. 16.0. To calculate the mean and standard deviations of the pre-and post-measurements and the interaction effects between group and time, a 2-way RGRM ANOVA was conducted. In case there is a significant interaction effect between group and time, t-tests (paired t-test) were conducted to test the group mean difference in the pre-and post test variables. If a significant group difference was found, a post-hoc test (Tukey) was conducted. The significance level in all tests was set at α=.05. The study results are as follows: First, the physical activity applied psychomotricity has a statistically significant effect on the improvement of physical strength, body fat ratio, cardiorespiratory endurance, power, balancing, dopamine, TG(Triglyceride), LDL-C, Glucose, Alpha wave and SMR wave among the intellectually-disabled children. Although this activity has a positive impact on the improvement of flexibility, muscle endurance, TC (Total Cholesterol), Theta wave and Beta wave, these effects were not statistically significant. The physical activity applied psychomotricity has a positive effect on the improvement of neuro-physiological variables. Second, the ordinary physical activity has a statistically significant impact on the improvement of body fat ratio, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscle endurance, power, dopamine, TC (Total Cholesterol), TG (Triglyceride), Glucose, Alpha wave and SMR wave. It has also a positive effect on flexibility, LDL-C, Thata wave and Beta wave, which were not statistically significant. The ordinary physical activity has a positive effect on the improvement of physical strength and neuro-physiological variable. Third, the post-hoc test (Tukey test) showed that the effect was higher in physical strength, body fat ratio, cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, muscles endurance, power, balancing, TG(Triglyceride), LDL-C and HDL-C of the intellectually-disabled children in the ordinary physical activity group, physical activity applied psychomotricity group and control group in the respective order. Although this activity has a positive impact on the improvement of cardiorespiratory endurance, power, TG(Triglyceride), LDL-C, these effects were statistically significant. The post-hoc test (Tukey) showed that the effect was higher in dopamine, TC(Total Cholesterol), Glucose, Alpha wave, SMR wave of the intellectually-disabled children in the physical activity applied psychomotricity group, ordinary physical activity group and control group in the respective order. The post-hoc test (Tukey) showed that there were statistically significant differences between group in dopamine, Alpha wave and SMR wave. Fourth, the physical activity applied psychomotricity and the ordinary physical activity have statistically significant positive effect on the sub-scales of emotional ability among the intellectually-disabled children including impulsivity-frustration, anxiety, depression-constriction, socialization, self-concept, aggressiveness and lack of reality sense. They have an overall positive effect on emotional ability. The post-hoc test (Tukey) on group-difference showed that there were significant differences in the order of physical activity applied psychomotricity, ordinary activity and control group, respectively. Fifth, the physical activity applied psychomotricity and the ordinary activity have a statistically significant effect on the development of sub-variables of social ability among the intellectually-disabled children including self-control, cooperation and self-assertion. They have overall positive effects on the development of social ability. The post-hoc test (Tukey) on group-difference in all sub-scales of social ability showed that there were statistically significant effects in the oder of physical activity applied psychomotricity, ordinary physical activity and control group, respectively. Sixth, the psysical activity applied psychomotricity on improving physical strength and blood lipids, but the effect is much larger electroencephalogram, dopamine and emotional/social ability aspects. Seventh, the ordinary physical activity on improving electroencephalogram, dopamine and emotional/social ability, but the effect is much larger physical strength and blood lipids ability aspects. To summarize, the physical activities applied psychomotricity for the overall development among the intellectually-disabled children have a positive impact on the behavioral change in social ability through exploration of one's body actively based on emotional stability and having self-confidence by feeling pleasure ad sense of achievement. Thus, these results suggest that the physi
