DPPH와 ABTS를 이용한 항산화능 측정과 Hypoxanthine/xanthine oxidase system을 이용하여 superoxide 소거능을 측정한 결과 편백잎과 편백열매의 Ethly acetate 분획물에서 우수한 항산화 활성이 확인되었다. 미백효과 측정 실험에서 tyrosinase inhibition rate 결과, 편백잎은 Ethly acetate > Butanol > Ethanol Ex. > Dichloromethane > Water , 편백열매는 Ethly acetate > Ethanol Ex. > Dichloromethane > Butanol > Water 분획물 순으로 tyrosinase 저해 활성이 농도 의존적으로 증가하였다. IC50을 측정한 결과 편백잎의 Ethly acetate 분획물은 IC50 80.95 ppm, 편백열매의 Ethly acetate 분획물은 IC50 71.38 ppm으로 다른 분획물보다 우수한 tyrosinase 저해 활성을 나타내었고, 또한 양성 대조군인 Kojic acid의 IC50 24.17 ppm과 비교했을 때도 우수한 tyrosinase 저해 활성이 확인되었다. 주름개선 효과 측정 실험에서 elastase inhibition rate 결과, 편백잎은 Ethly acetate > Dichloromethane > Butanol > Ethanol Ex. > Water, 편백열매는 Ethly acetate > Butanol > Dichloromethane > Water > Ethanol Ex. 분획물 순으로 elastase 저해 활성이 농도 의존적으로 증가하였다. In this study, an experiment was conducted to review content and confirm anti-oxidative effect as well as the whitening and wrinkle improvement effect, using TLC, of the ethanol extract of leaves and fruits of Chamaecyparis obtusa, which is planted a lot in Korea and is known to have a good effect of phytoncide. The objective of this experiment was to examine the possibility of using the extract as an natural ingredient for multi-functional cosmetics. The leaves and fruits of Chamaecyparis obtusa were dissolved in ethanol to create Ethanol Ex., Dichloromethane, Ethyl acetate, Buthanol, and Water fractions. Through the TLC content examination, the existence of a taxifolin glycoside in the ethyl acetate fraction and butanol fraction of leaves and fruits of Chamaecyparis obtusa were confirmed. The anti-oxidative effect was measured through the DPPH and ABTS, and the superoxide scavenging activity was examined with the Hypoxanthine/xanthine oxidase system. From these tests, the outstanding anti-oxidative effect of ethly acetate fraction of the Chamaecyparis obtusa leaves and fruits were identified. In the experiment for measuring the whitening effect, the result of tyrosinase inhibition rate was shown as the following order of increasing : Ethly acetate > Butanol > Ethanol Ex. > Dichloromethane > Water for leaves and Ethly acetate > Ethanol Ex. > Dichloromethane > Butanol > Water for fruits. In measuring the IC50, the ethly acetate fraction of Chamaecyparis obtusa leaves had IC50 of 80.95 ppm, the ethly acetate fraction of Chamaecyparis obtusa fruits was IC50 of 71.38 ppm.
