(A. americana Medikus.) flower and leaf and tuber. Apios extracts were studied for reducing sugar content, polyphenol content, superoxide dismutase (SOD) like activity, electron donating ability, nitrite scavenging ability, flavonoid content, hydroxy radical scavenging activity.
1. The highest reducing sugar content was shown by leaves(47.20±1.80 mg/mL) in 70% ethanol extracts and tuber(38.18±1.18 mg/mL) in water extracts.
2. Total polyphenol content was decreased in the order leaf
(1.39±0.00 mg/mL)> flower(0.72±0.01 mg/mL). tuber(0.58±0.00 mg/mL) by 70% ehtanol extract, and leaf(1.09±0.02 mg/mL)> flower(0.65±0.01 mg/mL) tuber(0.41±0.00 mg/mL) by water extract, was higher in ethanol extract than water extract.

Total Flavonoid content was decreased in the order leaf(7.73±0.03 mg/mL)> tuber(6.92±0.13 mg/mL)> flower(6.46±0.02 mg/mL) by 70% ehtanol extract, flower(6.42±0.06 mg/mL)> leaf(6.27±0.00 mg/mL) tuber(6.00±0.79 mg/mL) by water extract, was no difference solvent and different parts(flower, leaf, tuber).
