The purpose of this study is to investigate how physical therapists' emotional labor affect their job burnout, their job satisfaction, and their job involvement, and thus to provide a fundamental material for management of physical therapists and an improvement in the environmental system. Through direct visits to medical institutes, this researcher conducted an off-line and on-line questionnaire survey with physical therapists. The survey had been conducted from Oct. 4 to Oct. 18, 2013, and a total of 339 copies were collected. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS WIN 20.0. Based on them, frequency and percentage, the mean and standard deviation, T-test and One-way ANOVA, and Linear Regression Analysis were conducted. The mean of physical therapists' emotional labor was 3.1±0.6, the mean of their job burnout 2.8±0.5, the mean of their job satisfaction 3.0±0.7, and the mean of their job involvement 2.8±0.5. Emotional labor and job burnout had statistically significant and positive correlation (r=0.578, p<0.001), whereas emotional labor and job satisfaction (r=-0.404, p<0.001), and emotional labor and job involvement (r=-0.175, p<0.01) had statistically significant and negative correlation. Emotional labor gave a positively significant effect on job burnout(β=0.468, p<0.001). It seems that explaining influece on Adjust R2 is 0.431. Emotional labor had a negatively significant impact on job satisfaction (β=-0.329, p<0.001). It seems that explaining influece on Adjust R2 is 0.304. There was no significance in job involvement(p=0.162). Given the study results, it was found that emotional labor significantly affected job burnout and job satisfaction. Therefore, it is necessary to make an effort to lower emotional labor, an hindrance factor of job burnout and job satisfaction, and develop an intervention method. And, it will be required to perform additional research with the entire physical therapists.
