Abstract
The effects of Psychomotor program on Visual perception Development of Infants with Developmental delays
Sun Riye Choi Dept. of Early Childhood Special Education A Graduate school of Education Woosuk University
The purpose of this study is to know the effects of psychomotor program on visual perception development of infants with developmental delay. For this purpose three infants with developmental delay that were living in the dedicated disabilities facilities located in I City of North Jeolla Province were collected. A total of 16 times psychomotor program were carried out for them. Changes of Motor-Reduced Visual Perception and Visual-Motor Integration were compared through pre-post test by Korean Developmental Test of Visual Perception(K-DTVP-2). Results of research are as follows: First, psychomotor program affected positively to Motor-Reduced Visual Perception(Position in Space, Figure-Ground, Visual Closure, Form Constancy) of visual perception development of developmental delay infants. Second, psychomotor program affected positively to Visual-Motor Integration(Eye-Hand Coordination, Copying, Spatial Relation, Visual-Motor Speed) of visual perception development of developmental delay infants. In standard score that is sub-area of visual-motor closure, scores of participating infant A and infant B did not change almost no change but raw score was improved. These results can be seen as that psychomotor program affected positively to visual perception development of developmental delay infants. Taken together the above results, it was suggested that psychomotor program can be used as educational activities for improving visual perception development of developmental delay infants.
