Adaptation to college life is one of the most important achievements in one's life as a milestone for the transition from an adolescent to an adult and the adaptation to the society in the future. However, college students are exposed to the variety of strain such as studies, further education, getting jobs, employment instability, and relationships. As college students are in need for more essential time as time goes by, they feel time pressure, running out of time. The sense of time pressure and stress that college students experience are expected to be the main causes of not only depression, anxiety, and lack of happiness, but also difficulty in adaptation to college life. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to inspect the influence of time pressure and stress on college students and to provide fundamental data for effective adaptation of college life of college students. For this research, three hundred one college students attending any of 5 four-year-course universities in Daegu and Kyungsangbukdo participated in the survey. After the result of the survey underwent the data cleaning, it went through reliability test, descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA. At last, multiple regression has been done to comprehend the influence of time pressure and stress on college students. The main results are following; First, according to the overall standard of time pressure, stress and adaptation to college life, time pressure on college students was shown little higher than normal. In general, as subordinate groups college students experienced the shortage of time, sleep deprivation, lack of leisure activity, and deprivation of their personal time. The level of stress was little higher than normal. The highest was the stress about further education and getting jobs; and, the lowest was the stress about relationships. In between, there were the stress about mental/emotional problem and financial problem. It showed the stress about adaptation to college life was little higher than normal. As a subordinate group, emotional adaptation was little higher than adaptation to school performance. Second, according to the difference between general characteristics on time pressure, stress, and adaptation to college life, time pressure was shown the meaningful difference depending on hours of sleeping, hours taking to commute to school, satisfaction level in time usage, and subjective financial level. Indeed, the less hours of sleeping, or the longer it takes to commute to school, or the lower satisfaction to time usage, or the higher subjective financial level, the more time pressure the college student felt. Stress had the meaningful difference depending on the satisfaction to time usage and subjective financial level. The lower satisfaction level in time usage or the lower subjective financial level, the more stress that they felt. The adaptation to college life had the meaningful difference depending on the hours of smart phone usage and satisfaction level in time usage. The less they use their smart phones or mobile phones or the higher satisfaction to time usage, the better they adapt to college life. As a subordinate group, adaptation to school performance showed meaningful results depending on hours of smart phone usage and the satisfaction on time usage; and, emotional adaptation showed meaningful results depending on hours of smart phone usage and hours of sleeping. Third, time pressure and stress had negative influence on college students to their adaptation to college life. As subordinate groups, adaptation to school performance was negatively influenced by hours of sleeping and stress but positively influenced by hours of school performance. Emotional adaptation was negatively influenced by time pressure and stress.
