In science core schools, which have been operating since 2010, various examples have been reported related to changes in school curriculum operations such as curriculum and non-academic activities. In this study, 204 best practices from 2010 to 2018 were analyzed and the characteristics of the so - called development process from the early stage to the settlement stage were examined. To do this, we analyze how the 204 best practices are organized for each year and the characteristics of each area were derived according to the stage. From 2010 to 2018, a minimum of 13 and a maximum of 41 best practices were reported annually, with an average of 22.7. Each case was divided into curriculum management, creative convergence, project, non-academic activity, and learning community according to the core contents. Also, in the details of each core content curriculum management is divided into curriculum development, classroom improvement, integrated science, science inquiry experiment, mathematics, special curriculum, and specialized curriculum, with creative convergence education classified into STEAM, maker, coding, IT, humanities, entertainment, project research, R & E, and deepening inquiry activities. In addition, the non-academic activities were classified into club activities, science festivals, volunteer activities, science camp activities, lectures, and learning communities as teacher clubs, class analysis, and coaching. In order to understand the characteristics of the changes in each period, this study analyzed the characteristics of the first three years of the science core schools, three years of the establishment, and three years of settlement. In the first three years, the emphasis was on the selection and starting of science core schools and the application of the 2009 revised curriculum, and the establishment of curriculum was related to the activation of STEAM education, and the establishment period was related to the application of comprehensive curriculum of students and 2015 revision curriculum. As a result, the average of curriculum management was 22.1% (SD 7.9),creative convergence education 13.4% (SD 9.5),project 11.9% (SD 11.1), and non-academic activities 41.4% (SD 9.8). In comparison with the other areas, the non-academic activities and curriculum management are considered to be important operating elements of science core schools. In terms of the changes in the best practices by core content, the curriculum management decreased to 17.0% (n = 16) from the early period of 30.9% (n = 17) and slightly increased to 18.2% (n = 10). The convergence education showed a tendency to rise from 7.3% (n = 4) to 21.3% (n = 20) and slightly drop to 12.7% (n = 7). Project activity was lower in the early stage (9.1%, n = 5) than in the second stage (2.1%) in the early stage but increased to 23.6% (n = 13). Finally, in the learning community, 12.7% (n = 7) of the initial period was lowered to 6.4% (n = 6)in the second period and rose again to 12.7%(n=7) in the settlement period. Through the best practices of these science core schools, it can be seen that the school curriculum is organized in accordance with the science focus process in the settlement process of science core schools, and the teacher community activities for student - centered education activities and cooperation and research of teachers are emphasized and that the students' diverse science experiences and extra-curricula activities have been consistently implemented. In addition, as the STEAM education became more active, the convergence education activities became more active, and it was understood that application of the 2015 revised curriculum and creative foundation 's support affected various curriculum and project activities. In this study, it was easy to see that the change of the curriculum emphasizing the improvement of teaching methods and the comprehensive selection of the students at universities increased the proportion of teachers' club activities and learning community activities. Also It also became an opportunity to confirm that they are operating in line with changes in curriculum and teaching methods.
