In addition, the development of the mass media and the Internet in today’s society has widely spread the Korean Wave, and nowadays, people from various countries can access various information and news in real time through social media. As a result, compared to other Asian countries, South Korea ranked first in the products most favored by young people, and the number of Vietnamese tourists in South Korea also continue to increase. Therefore, with the development of beauty tourism that identifies the needs of modern people and pursues physical beauty and health, the number of tourists trying to experience South Korea’s beauty system is also increasing given its excellent systems and technical services compared to other countries. In contrast, Vietnam is rich and abundant in resources and creatures that can be used infinitely for beauty products, but it has a low quality of infrastructure that has reduced demand, requiring more development and effective marketing strategies. To solve these problems, the pros and cons of Vietnam's beauty tourism development should be accurately identified and analyzed, and management plans should be presented, so that the beauty tourism industry and economic development improve. This study aims to lay the basis for contributing to economic development by seeking efficient and empirical measures for the development beauty tourism service products as well as and marketing strategies of specialized in Vietnam to increase the awareness of and vitalize Vietnam's beauty tourism. To do so, this study will find out Vietnamese’ perception of beauty tourism and ways to revitalize it by examining beauty tourism experience and the perception of beauty tourism according to general characteristics. For analysis, this study collected and used 278 copies of self-reported questionnaire for Vietnamese as final analysis data, performed frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA using the SPSS 22.0 program, and verified the data through the post-Duncan test. The results are as follows. First, according to the general characteristics of Vietnamese showed that the most common survey responses for gender is 'female', age is 'under 30', education is 'college graduate', marital status is 'unmarried', occupation is 'service industry', and annual income is '10 million won or less'. Second, ‘15%’ had experience and ‘85%’ had no experience in beauty tourism. Third, the study analyzed the perception of beauty tourism through a survey, which showed that the Vietnamese perceived 'beauty tourism for enjoying vacation', showed interest in 'body composition improvement', viewed the expansion of beauty tourism facilities as 'necessary', and believed that 'business owners' should arrange the facilities for expanding the resources to revitalize beauty tourism. For selection attribute of beauty tourism, the 'stability of the tourist area' was high, and the survey respondents said 'there was no need to’ introduce technology and improve the system, the level and activation of Vietnam's beauty tourism was 'normal', the important areas for vitalization were 'beauty industry expertise', and ‘the effects of creating jobs for local residents’ appeared as high in the competitiveness of Vietnam's beauty tourism. Lastly, the survey said the problem of Vietnam's beauty tourism was 'the lack of beauty industry facilities', and the activation therapy was in the order of 'body composition improvement', 'bone skin care', 'plastic surgery', 'spa', and 'cosmetics industry'. Fourth, beauty tourism selection attributes according to general characteristics showed a significant difference only in 'age', and the perception of competitiveness of beauty tourism in Vietnam according to general characteristics showed significant differences in 'gender', 'age', 'occupation', and 'income'. Next, the perception of problems of beauty tourism in Vietnam according to general characteristics had a significant difference in all general characteristics of 'gender', 'age', 'education', 'marriage', 'occupation', and 'income'. Therefore, to develop beauty tourism in Vietnam, it is necessary to establish an infrastructure that satisfies the human, physical, and environmental needs of tourists, develop a service program to meet the needs of beauty tourism and expand promotion, and continuously train professionals and specialists to offer quality services. This study aimed to seek ways to contribute to the activation of beauty tourism in Vietnam and provides empirical and efficient data that can be directly applied to beauty tourism.
