After nearly twenty years of training, I finally enrolled in a Theology
course at a college which would reassure me of what I had experienced
thus far, but also to acknowledge that special knowledge of faith may
confirm 'An idea of Salvation of John Wesley'.
This theory of John Wesley is thought to begin with a notion of
preventing grace which connects to the legal contrition of personal sin and
shame. Confessing to believe in Jesus and by the baptism of water and

Spirit, the children of God are born again spiritually in virtue of
justification and by the grace of God who makes all worthy to share the
life of his Kingdom; this special grace is attained through a life in the
Word and constant prayer. By living such a life, one would be led to the
state of sanctification via Evangelical repentance. In the reflective light of
the Gospel, the natural dictation of our sins can be transformed into
righteousness through the process of self-denial which may help reaching the
Christian perfection. Therefore, Wesley's salvation theory suggests that fallen
deteriorated nature of the sinners can be restored according to the image of
God from whom they were created, in order to share in the new order of
creation.
As in the words of St John, 'I have come that they may have life an
have to the full (John 10.10b)', people who achieved the Christian perfection
cannot but live a life that is full of joy and happiness. Because of the faith
in God the most Holy Trinity is distinguished rather from atheistic beliefs,
the vice of idolatry destroyed for the sake of one God, and the triple faults
of ‘the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life’ must be
turned away from the holy people of God entirely.
Regrettably, many people do not reach this point of maturity and fulfill
the height of Christian perfection; for their spiritual growth is often paused,
interrupted and deterred from the salvation journey. Some even satisfied
receiving a few graces, are just content in staying there. It is my wish that
these people may now reflect on their personal journey of faith in God,
study and emulate the Idea of Salvation, to obtain that Christian perfection!
If John has changed the course of corrupted society and church of England
in the 18c, we, who achieved the Christian perfection shall perform as

'Light and Salt' in today's society and church of the 21c.
Lastly, I conclude that a core element of the Christian perfection lies in the
virtue of Self-denial. Only through the complete self-denial, an outpouring of
God's love is gained, as through the presence of righteousness, peace and
joy, many good fruits of living a life of joyful love to God and our
neighbours will manifest.
