The purpose of this study was to investigate relations among father attachment/mother attachment, self-competence and ego-resiliency in school aged children. Path analysis was utilized to examine relations among variables. The subjects were 701 school children attended in elementary schools in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province. The collected data were analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling(SEM), by the use of SPSS 19.0. and AMOS 19.0 Results indicate that (1) Both of father attachment and mother attachment have not direct effect on ego-resiliency but self-competence has direct effect on ego-resiliency. (2) Father attachment and mother attachment influence ego-resiliency in paths through self-competence. And father attachment influence more on self-competence and ego-resiliency than mother attachment.

대상 데이터

이론/모형

관찰변인의 첨도 및 왜도가 정규분포성을 위배하지 않는 것으로 나타났기 때문에 모집단 분포의 정규분포성을 요하는 최대우도추정(ML: Maximum likelihood estimation) 절차를 이용하여 모델의 부합 도와 모수치를 추정하였다(Curran, West, & Finch, 1996; Moon, 2009).
IPPA-R은 청소년과 성인을 대상으로 개발된 것이지만, 9~15세 아동을 대상으로 한 평가에서 신뢰도와 타당도가 입증된 바 있다(Gullone & Robinson, 2005). 이 연구에서는 IPPA-R 중 부/모애착만을 번안, 수정하여 사용한 Ok(1998)의 척도를 사용하였다. ‘아버지(어머니)는 좋은 아버지(어머니)라고 생각한다.
학령기 아동의 부/모애착을 측정하기 위해 국내외(Lee & Park, 2004; Gullone & Robinson, 2005; Ahn et al., 2011)에서 학령기 아동의 애착 측정 도구로 활용되고 있는 Armsden and Greenberg(1987)가 제작한 부모 및 또래애착 척도(Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment)의 개정본(IPPA-R)을 활용하였다.
학령기 아동의 자기역량감은 Harter(1985)의 아동용 자기 지각 검사(Self Perception Profile for Children : SPPC)를 번안, 수정하여 사용한 Kim(2001)의 척도를 사용하였다. 36개의 문항으로 구성된 각 문항은 ‘나는 선생님의 질문에 대답을 잘 한다.

성능/효과

둘째, 학령기 아동의 부/모애착은 자아탄력성에 직접 영향을 미치지 않지만 자기역량감을 통해 간접 영향을 미친다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 가족의 응집성과 적응성과 같은 가족 관계변인이 청소년의 자아탄력성에 직접적 영향을 미치지는 않지만 개인 내적 변인인 자아존중감이나 공감, 내외 통제성과 같은 개인 내적 변인을 통해 간접적으로 영향을 미친다는 연구결과(Kang & Baek, 2006)와 유사한 것이다.
4점 Likert로 측정한 이 척도는 아동학 전공의 박사학위를 소지한 5인에 의해 내용타당도를 확인받았다. 응답 가능 범위는 36점에서 144점이며 점수가 높을수록 자기 자신에 대한 역량감을 보다 높이 평가하고있음을 의미한다. 문항 간 내적 합치도에 의한 신뢰도 Cronbach's α는 .

추정된 모수치의 경로계수를 살펴보면, 부애착과 모애착은 자기역량감에 직접적 영향을 미치나, 부 애착(β = .30, p < .001)이 모애착(β = .19, p < .001)보다 자기역량감에 보다 더 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
학령기 아동의 자아탄력성은 자기역량감(β = .64, p < .001)에 의해 직접적 영향을 받을 뿐 부애착(β = .19, p < .01), 모 애착(β = .12, p < .001) 모두는 자기역량감을 통해 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
한편 학령기 아동의 부애착은 모애착보다 자아탄력성이나 자기역량감에서 상대적으로 더 높은 설명력을 보였다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 부와 모애착의 영향력은 아동의 발달 영역에 따라 차이를 보인다는 연구결과(Easterbrooks & Goldberg, 1990; Suess et al, 1992)를 지지하는 것이며, 공격성과 또래와의 다툼에서는 모애착보다 부애착이 보다 큰 설명력을 보인다고 보고한 연구결과(Melissa & Anna-Beth, 1999; Choi, 2005)와 같은 맥락에 있는 것이다.
확인결과 [Table 3]에서 볼 수 있는 바와 같이, 간명모델의 모든 부합도 지수(GFI > .90, NFI > .90, CFI > .90, .02 < RMSEA < .08)가 모델부합도 기준을 충족시키는 것으로 나타났다.

이 연구에서는 부/모애착과 자아탄력성간 관계가 자기역량감을 통해 매개되는 완전매개 효과가 나타났지만, 자아탄력성 개발에 부/모애착의 중요성을 간과해서는 안될 것이다. 부/모애착은 자아탄력성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 자기역량감에 영향을 미침으로써 자아탄력성에 간접적으로 유의한 영향을 미치고 있기 때문이다.
그러므로 추후 연구에서는 부/모애착과 자기역량감 그리고 자아탄력성 간 관계 규명 시 자료 수집을 전국 단위로 확대할 뿐 아니라 남녀 아동의 성별 효과를 고려해 볼 필요가 있다. 이러한 노력이 수반된다면 이 연구의 일반화 과정을 위한 논의가 보다 구체화될 것이라 보여진다.
전업모의 학령기 아동에 비해 적절한 돌봄이 상대적으로 부족한 취업모의 학령기 아동의 경우, 자아탄력성은 자기 보호 요인으로 중요하게 다루어져야 할 필요가 있기 때문이다. 이러한 점을 고려해 추후 연구에서는 취업모와 전업모의 학령기 아동을 대상으로 자아탄력성에 미치는 부/모애착과 자기역량감의 매개모형을 구조방정식의 다중집단 분석을 통해 살펴보았으면 한다.
이와 같은 연구문제의 결과는 학령기 아동의 자아탄력성을 강화시킴으로써 스트레스에 대한 대응 능력을 향상시키고자 하는 교육관련 및 복지관련 종사자, 상담 분야 전문가들에게 도움이 될 정보나 자료로 활용 될 수 있다.
